I have mine in there.
I cut down the 'box' and only used the bottom 1/2 (used the velco strap to secure the remaining items). Removed the jack/wrench. Wrapped the jack/wrench in rags (useful if I have to change a tire). No rattles yet (over a month now).

Must be something different about Canadian spec Eoses. My jack fits in with the spare wheel; maybe you get a full-size spare in Canada?

I can't believe VW couldn't find a few square inches to store the jack. This really bugs me having the "box" take up some of the little space available. I will look into the pass thru idea, but not thrilled with that either. Otherwise, loving the car!

if you buy a new eos do you get a get you home spare tyre or a proper tyre?
This jack, the people who have it in the spare wheel are you in the UK?
UK specs have a get you home spare and a packaged jack.

I too have the dreaded BOX. Standard NA equipment. Breaking up the kit as SpeedyEos has done bothers me somewhat. I would be concerned with locating the pieces when needed. Putting it with the tire would have been a better solution. As for that 'flimsy" wheel, it is only for emergency use to get you to someplace to get the tire fixed or replaced same as if you were using runflats. Over here some people use the emergency spare like a regular wheel and tire even though it says on the tire not to do so. No one anywhere else in the world would do that.

I meet some of them every day on the drive to and from work...

After reading the comments here, I got pissed at the "jackbox" taking up valuable room. So, I wedged the jack in with the donut spare (a triffle sticks up higher than the spare.) The rest of the thingabobs that were in the jackbox are on in a sack in the same area. I suppose the cover that hides the spare is now maybe a 1/4-1/2" higher, but it's not apparent looking at it. The jackbox now sits in my garage, perhaps to include with some distant future sale of the car. I also laid my windscreen cover over the tire, so now my trunk is totally clean of these items.
I normally leave my windscreen install all the time as I've never had a rear seat passenger. With it up, it also hides anything I place on the rear seat.
