Has anyone noticed poor sound quality with their SIRIUS SAT Radio? The radio, CD, even iPod sound amazing but the SAT radio sound like internet radio surfing from 5 years ago. Very Compressed sounding with uneven bass.
Wondering if anyone else notices this, has a fix, or if this is common with SAT radio (I've never had SAT radio before). Thx!

Mine is fine. Nice clear quality - the same as what I have in my Dodge Durango. Although I have the Dynaudio in my EOS and Infiniti in my Dodge so that may be of help for me. My only issue is overpasses and roads with overhanging trees that tend to block out reception.

Mine sounded poor with the original trail period. When I signed up there was an option for better sound quality and I went for it, much better but a rip-off for $3 a month.

I thought the $3.00 p/month was only for better internet quality when listening online. Not true?

I occasionally listen online and don't notice any problems with the sound quality. My on-board radio cuts out a lot when I'm driving on the road that runs north-south of my home. The road is on a lake with raising terrain perhaps 500-1000 feet which I think blocks on the satellite signal (it's the same on two cars I own with Sirius). I'm on the west coast and I think probably anyone east of me by maybe 1000 miles would not have as much of a problem as the satellite would be "higher" for them.
I'm still in the free 3 month trial. How much does Sirius cost afterwards?

Mine is working flawlessly. Sound is the same quality as any CD or my Aux mp player. Iam still on the 3 month trial but cannot go without it now.
2008 silver, sport, komfort, 17" lemas, black leather. Oh yea, had my windows tinted...the rear and back now match the roof. The front sides tinted as well, but not as dark. Auto 2.0 T.

Their basic plan costs $12.95 per month or 43 cents a day. They also offer 1 and 2 year plans and MAYBE longer ones if you check further.
I bought a lifetime plan a couple of years ago that allows a coupe of free transfers. I transfered my lifetime to the Eos. I have a second vehicle that also has Sirius and a second subscription costs $6.95 per month.
IF you buy any plan, you also get internet access for free. However, IF you or someone is listening in your car, you can't also listen on the internet AT the same time which I think is a little knit-picking.
It took me several years to get over the hump of paying for radio, but I do enjoy the choices that it gives over free radio. At 1/9 of the cost of a Starbucks coffee, I think its worthwhile.

AndySC, I'm with you. IMHO, satellite radio sound quality can be inferior, but I don't believe everyone has the ear to notice it. To me, satellite radio sounds about as good as a 128kb mp3. Sure, it's digital and it delivers clarity, but not high quality. I love satellite's variety and its commercial-free aspects, but I was so disappointed with the fidelity that I cancelled my subscription. If you can tell the difference between a 128kb and 320kb mp3s, then maybe you'll notice the difference between satellite radio and, say, a CD. For those of you who don't notice any difference, you have nothing to worry about.
