: Philips SilverVision mod (before & after photos)
FrEos 07-30-2008, 06:41 PM OK, so it's hardly the most stunning 'mod' ever, but the orange hue in the front indicators annoyed me, so I swapped the OEM bulbs for a pair of SilverVisions. Here are the before & after pictures (my car is actually silver, though the low light levels this evening make everything appear bluer) :)

SiJ2000 07-30-2008, 07:08 PM What do they look like switched on??
Eos_Up 07-30-2008, 07:36 PM Probably illegal in the US as turn signals have to be yellow/orange.
cb391 07-30-2008, 09:03 PM Over here we have the Silver Star line. http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/AutomotiveLighting/HighPerformance/SilverStarSignal/default.htm
They light yellow and are legal here but are a bit more expensive than OEM amber bulbs.
SiJ2000 07-30-2008, 09:52 PM Now I see... Didn't realise you meant the indicators!! ;)
pacemaker1000 07-30-2008, 10:12 PM already done, actually FrEos i went even further and gave the actual orange bulb holders a quick spray of silver, sad i know.

agree the orange looks pants. mine have a blue tint which look nice and stand out when the car comes towards you as i found out the other day when the wife stole( i mean borrowed) MY eos and drove passed me
of course they flash orange and are totally legal :D

Yes, sorry, people. I was assuming you all knew what SilverVisions were (indicator bulbs that appear silver, but flash orange). They are 100% legal - they are made by Philips, after all - and just remove the orange tint from the indicator cowl.
I like the idea of spraying the orange bulb holder. I hadn't thought that it might be visible from the outside, though - does it make a difference? :)

Stupid question, but I went on the website and didn't know what bulbs they were that you got - any numbers/names that you would like to quote??! I have a midnight blue Eos and think it would look pukka with a set of these in...
FrEos 07-31-2008, 09:16 AM This link (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=philips+silvervision) is probably more useful. The 'official' Philips SVs are expensive, but don't be tempted by the cheap knock-offs on eBay, which will more than likely be illegaland/or burn out after a couple of weeks :)

Cool  Thanks! Will post pics if I choose to do it, and I need to post pics even if I don't!! lol :D

Putting on my favourite anorak, I gave your idea a try this morning and I must say it finishes the bulb job off a treat. I daren't tell my wife, though : being even remotely interested in car indicators in the first place is beyond her comprehension and if she found out, our mariage would be in jeopardy :D
boac69 08-11-2008, 11:48 AM Read the thread and thought "I like that" and the photo's convinced me that with a light blue (Leonie) Eos this was the way to go.
Went out to the car only to find that the factory had done the job for me on build! my indicators look silver/light blue and flash orange, I am well pleased and I had saved some cash into the bargain, this car keeps on surprising me.
My indicators and side lights are different to the photos in style, maybe as they are zenons its standard ???
FrEos 08-11-2008, 12:51 PM If your lights look like this (indicators in the centre section of the cluster), then they're xenons (lucky git ;))
