: South East England/Coast
smoggypaul 03-09-2007, 01:51 PM Hi to all Eos owners in the South East. I'm expecting my Eos in mid-April, and living in Sussex just outside Brighton I'm curious as to whether I will be joined by any other Eos drivers in this area as I parade down the prom at Brighton? Haven't seen a single one outside the dealerships yet, though am told they are selling well! Happy to be unique, but doubt that I am!!!!
julie 03-10-2007, 08:04 PM Hi Smoggypaul,
I live the other side of Hastings and like you I have never seen another eos on the road!!!!So when you see a paprika red eos coming your way it will probably be me.
Enjoy your new arrival and let me know what you think of the mpg
Julie
smoggypaul 03-10-2007, 10:01 PM Hi Julie - well that's East and West Sussex covered, membership is now full!
I'm expecting delivery in mid-April, fingers crossed, and am looking forward to driving around the south coast, IF I can prise it off my wife - this is the first car I have ever known her take an interest in outside her beloved Polo!
Laura H 03-11-2007, 08:48 PM Me....Sunny Kent. May drop into West Sussex now and again.
Leonie Blue. 2.0TDI Sport.
Plate will tell its me MY 56 EOS.
Past loads of convertibles today with roof down. Peugeot 307cc with roof down. They looked at me very weird. I muttered to myself. Should have bought one of these rather than that load of old crap!!!
Laura
smoggypaul 03-11-2007, 09:39 PM This weather is killing me - just perfect for dropping the lid and gently cruising around, but one month still to wait!
Know what you mean about the 'other' cc's - they just don't look right! 307CC has a well padded rear, if you know what I mean! The Eos looks right!
Paul:cool:
rajtamarind 04-29-2007, 06:15 PM got our black EOs a moth ago. We are often in Brighton. so you may see us too!:)
Gavster 04-29-2007, 08:18 PM We are in Suffolk so not a million miles away - only ordered last week so got quite a few weeks to wait yet.
Hi
I live in Worthing and fingers crossed I am picking mine up on Friday this week!!!
Mine's a Silver TDI - I'll be keeping my eyes out for you all!
Cheers
:)

furrydice 05-01-2007, 07:26 PM Smoggy,
fellow sussex man, just outside Brighton, recieve my EOS this Saturday 5th May, may well see you around.
Perhaps we all need to start an EOS Kent/Sussex Club, meetings etc.
TDI, Sport, Silver,
smoggypaul 05-01-2007, 10:44 PM Good to hear others are getting their cars in time for the Bank Holiday weekend - which of course is going to be sunny and dry and perfect for what we all now know are EDA's [Eos Driving Adventures!!!]
I have to wait a few days more for mine - next Tuesday morning to be precise - I just found out today!!! Its good to finally have a firm date, but hell to have to wait one more week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So there will be at least 3 new 'Eoses' cruising around Sussex in a weeks time!!! Lets not make them toooo common!
Cheers
Paul:cool:
Dilsta 05-04-2007, 10:26 PM Hey Smoggy, Maybe we can organise the London to Brighton Eos Ride...Just joined the forum this week, so hopefully in due course we will have some London Crusiers for the event....

Now there's a thought! Only one rule - TOP DOWN
Buzbys 09-02-2007, 02:26 PM Hi Smoggy
Like you I live in the South East (Goring By Sea) and work in Brighton. (Brighton & Sussex County Hospital) I have a black 2.0 FSI T with 7000 + miles on the clock, love it. Hope to see you around Brighton. I occasionally see another Black EOS coming out of Brighton on the coast road early mornings (6.15)
Regards
Doolallygirl 03-16-2009, 12:34 PM Live in Kent but grandparents live Brighton way and will be down a lot this summer hopefully.
Did anything happen about a regular Kent meet?
Barchetta 03-16-2009, 02:59 PM Im in West Sussex too, south of Crawley.
Regards
Rob
I'm in Kent ... and the sun is shining, it's warm - and when I get my Eos in May (fingers crossed) I'll be driving all over the place. Will my family see me again??!! A Kent meet??? Sounds good.

Can we make it a lot more sunny first so that we are guaranteed sunshine?! I see this weekend might not be so fantastic but maybe we could do a meet after the Dubz in the Park in Berkshire in May? ;)
Buzbys 03-17-2009, 04:48 PM Hi Smoggypaul
I live in Goring By Sea and travel daily to Brighton (Sussex Co Hospital) now on my second EOS and love them. Silver 2.0T.
Regards
Barry
neh321 03-18-2009, 09:47 AM guaranteed sunshine?! ;)
Aren't you in England?!!
Rathbod 03-18-2009, 10:58 AM "Goring By Sea"
I lived in Worthing for about 8 years, it was the impessionable time on my kids growing up, they used to refer to it as Boring Goring. No, seriously I personally miss all the greens along the front, plenty of space there to park you cars and get together.

ratman 03-26-2009, 07:15 PM I’m in Havant also a newbie to this site and excited at putting a deposit on my Eos yesterday. All I have to do now is wait for the dealer to call me and let me no my car is ready to collect. I'm so excited. I’m hoping this will be this time next week and the weather will be kind.

Welcome! Don't think you will get your top off next week though by the look of the forecast!
Chipontheroad 05-17-2009, 06:44 PM I am in Burgess Hill, commute towards Gatwick, several glorious routes to take and enjoy the journey every day.
Car specs in signature. Still deliriously happy every time I get behind the wheel. Could join a meet if it happens, depending on when...

Doolallygirl 05-17-2009, 06:47 PM Hey everyone
At today's meet in Bracknell there was talk of having a meet at Bluewater or some other "southern" area rather than all of us clocking up hundreds of miles going in opposite directions!
If you would be interested please note your interest, and I can PM with details when something has come about. Will be in the summer so that we can rely a bit more on good weather though! :)
Richard G 05-17-2009, 09:53 PM Barring illness or accident I will be there................

NinjaDonkey 05-18-2009, 08:35 AM Sounds like a plan to me :)
Tintin 05-18-2009, 12:04 PM Blue Water would be feasible for me too. ;)
SiJ2000 05-18-2009, 01:01 PM Me too... I don't mind going to BlueWater!
Hope they can reserve some of the car park... I guess the top floor in the sun/rain!
A good plan wherever.
Corinne
Doolallygirl 05-18-2009, 03:32 PM Well I know that there is a Japanese car club that uses Bluewater on a Tuesday to meet up and the car park is full of boy racers on a Thursday night so it's not such an unpopular place to meet! The only issue may be like you say that the car parks could be too full to warrant finding anywhere where there are several spaces together unless we meet on a week night or after the shops are closed
Any solutions people? :o
V6 Bandit 05-18-2009, 04:32 PM Sunday mornings around 11am the carpark at the back of House of Fraser at the far end is usually pretty empty unless there is a special promotion going on. Whats the plan, meet n eat or find some country roads to get a convoy going?
Tim
Doolallygirl 05-19-2009, 09:00 AM CIB just suggested that we meet at farm in Tonbridge where we could get some good pics etc. We could all take a picnic, bring the kids/other half/pets along! I think it sounds ideal, would Tonbridge be accessible for all?
Otherwise far corner of the car park in Bluewater would be equally as accessible and so long as there isn't another meet happening at the time, probably quite quiet from what Tim says.
Any other ideas to be thrown into the ring?

P.S loving the convoy idea - the looks we got on the way there on Sunday were brilliant!
SiJ2000 05-19-2009, 09:31 AM I'll go to the meet, but im not a big fan of convoys! I always get lost! ;)
Reminds me of cross country runs when I was at school! Traumatic! LOL
I like the car park idea... Cos it's concrete! ;)
V6 Bandit 05-19-2009, 09:38 AM The farm gets my vote, can someone order some extra sun next time, I needed a snorkel on the M25 on the way to Bracknell last weekend!!
Also keeping my wife away from Bluewater keeps my credit card happier!!
Tintin 05-19-2009, 12:04 PM P.S loving the convoy idea - the looks we got on the way there on Sunday were brilliant!
I am liking the idea of a convoy. Just imagine the look on people's face who have not seen an EOS before, then suddenly they see 5 or 10 in a row. :D
The video I have posted a while back of a meet in Spain (I think) where you had a convoy of about 20 cars made me very anvious. Obviously they can guaranty the weather better than we can.:(
SiJ, there's plenty of concrete too, so you wouldn't have to pull your trousers up and tiptoe across any mud!!!!!!!!!!!! Though I think photos would look nicer if the cars are in a field.

Tintin 05-19-2009, 12:07 PM I am yet to determine where Tonbridge is in relation to Blue Water...does anyone know how far it is from the Dartford Tunnel?
V6 Bandit 05-19-2009, 01:11 PM I am yet to determine where Tonbridge is in relation to Blue Water...does anyone know how far it is from the Dartford Tunnel?
Tonbridge less than 25 miles from Bluewater. I think a convoy would be fun, a real head turner. If we get enough of us we could set up a photo shoot with the roofs doing a mexican wave!
Dobbo 05-19-2009, 06:21 PM Depending on dates I'm a possible.
Lucari 05-19-2009, 08:20 PM Barring weddings, tardy builders and other late surprises, I'm in.
Doolallygirl 05-20-2009, 03:55 PM CIB over to you - what dates fit in with you? Also need to consider people will be going on hols soon ish but we want sunshine (although in this financial climate if anyone is going away I hope you can take me with you!!;) )
If I say the dates I can't do, that gives us LOTS of options. I can't do the anything between 15th July and 4th August (my mother will be here and I wouldn't do that to anyone). Can't do end of August beginning September. Can't do weekend after next. Otherwise - somebody suggest a date (a Saturday or Sunday) and let's go from there. Exciting!
V6 Bandit 05-20-2009, 11:11 PM How about 5th July, far enough into summer for good weather but not in traditional holiday season? Will be great if we get the numbers.
Tim
NinjaDonkey 05-21-2009, 08:21 AM I can do:
6th/7th June
4th/5th July
11th/12th July
26th July
15th/16th August
22nd/23rd August
Hopefully that's enough bases covered!
How about 26th July (then the field will be cut so there won't be any long grass, and the photographs will be brilliant)?? And the sun should be shining, shouldn't it?
Doolallygirl 05-23-2009, 01:02 PM I can't make the 26th unfortunately, but if that's good for everyone else then go for it! I'm sure it won't kill me to miss one! ;)
Doolallygirl 05-29-2009, 10:17 AM This kind of died a death so just to ping it back to the top.....
:o
Lucari 05-29-2009, 10:52 AM I'm good for all those dates so I'll slot in when ready.
V6 Bandit 05-29-2009, 01:29 PM i can do most weekends in july. 26th is ok for me
OKay - what about the 16th August?? Here? In one of our fields - the flattest one, grass cut, trees in the background. lovely photos!! I should be upright by then - hurt back so can't drive out in the sunshine in my very clean and virtually unused car - grrrrrrrrr!
C
NinjaDonkey 06-01-2009, 09:42 AM August 16th is good for me.
SiJ2000 06-01-2009, 10:33 AM Should be good for me too!
V6 Bandit 06-01-2009, 05:22 PM good for me too
Tim
Hope you are feeling better CIB
Doolallygirl 06-01-2009, 11:06 PM Good for me too providing mother dearest doesn't decide to celebrate her birthday a day late! lol :D
Hoping your back is better soon, and that there is someone upright in your household with you and hubby out of action :(
16th August seems to meet with approval! Let me know who (I know it's a long time away - but when you're older you'll see that time shrinks really fast!!). There's plenty of room for picnics and children. It could be great fun as well as a brilliant excuse to talk Eos!
C
Lucari 06-03-2009, 07:33 PM Count me (and wifey) in. I've put it in my calendar.
Doolallygirl 06-04-2009, 08:27 AM Will see if I can persuade a friend to come with me! :D
SiJ2000 06-04-2009, 09:20 AM Me too, plus the wife and kids!
V6 Bandit 06-04-2009, 01:55 PM Liz and I are going as well
Tim
Doolallygirl 06-05-2009, 08:31 AM CIB - would you mind me putting it on the Facebook group as an invite to an event? I can tell anyone that may be interested to join this site and further details will be distributed via this site etc? Or did you just want "the usual crowd"? ;)
My only experience of Facebook invitations has been hearing about hordes of people turning up!!! What does 'the usual crowd' think??? :)
Richard G 06-07-2009, 08:56 PM Can't see a problem with a link to the facebook site. After all the meet last October at TGI's in Watford was posted there and 4 of us turned up..........I reckon it could encourage more owners to get check out this site and meet up.
V6 Bandit 06-07-2009, 09:56 PM Dont see a problem advertising the meet on Facebook, but only give out location on this forum. This would reduce the possibility of a Facebook horde descending, and hopefully just interested parties would then be attending. From the look of this thread at the moment we might get 10 cars which would beat the 7 at Dubs at the Park.
Tim
SiJ2000 06-08-2009, 11:01 AM Just don't put any personal details (like address) on it...
I think even the finals of the location should only be done in private messaging. This is because it is a private location, not a public one.
OKay, I'm convinced! Go ahead DG ... let's see how many more Eos-lovers there are in the area!!
C
Tintin 06-08-2009, 12:41 PM The 16th August looks promising for us too (so long as the weather holds on the day). Are we talking picnic in the park, a cruise or both?
I also like the idea of the Mexican wave - funny :D
V6 Bandit 06-19-2009, 06:27 PM Thought I would just refresh the link as its been a bit quiet. Shall we have a quick show of hands from anyone who is on for the 16th August and then we can work out how to get CIB's address out to people without splashing it all over the internet/facebook.
Look forward to seeing all who can make it
Tim
Good idea - let's try and 'get this show on the road' - I'd love to watch everyone come in convoy down our road!
blackmagic 06-25-2009, 01:06 PM Weather permitting, will consider it nearer the day. 260 mile trip roof down ssounds great.
Richard G 06-25-2009, 09:07 PM Just to confirm that I should be there on the 16th providing I can get to see my son afterwards ( its his birthday ).................
Stephb 06-25-2009, 09:48 PM Sorry I won't be able to make it as it's my OH's dads birthday :(
Steph xx
Okay, I have started making a list (well I can't get my photographs to upload so ...!) August 16th will be here before we know it. (Sorry you can't make it, Steph - next time). The photos I wanted to show would also have given you an idea of where we will put the cars - in a (flat) field (specially for SiJ2000!) :)
Plenty of room for picnics and playing games. If the weather is awful we'll have to sit indoors and stare out at our cars!!
By the way, I read the other day that Easthampstead Park, where we met last month for the Dubs in the Park, was Henry VIII's hunting lodge. Our house has no such historic links!
SiJ2000 06-26-2009, 10:04 AM If it's for my benefit, is it a concrete field?
SiJ, you can be the wallflower and park your car on the concrete! But then if we do a 'Mexican wave' you won't be in it! Sigh. :D
Doolallygirl 08-13-2009, 10:44 AM Was a time of arrival ever discussed?
Was a time of arrival ever discussed?
ABout 1-ish so we can have a long picnic lunch - good idea????
SKIDOO 08-13-2009, 03:42 PM Hope you all have a great time and the weather holds for you all. Look forward to seeing the photo's at a later date. Sorry we can't be there.
Gary & SK2
V6 Bandit 08-13-2009, 05:05 PM 1 o'clock is fine with us, looking forward to it.
