Post a picture of your Eos and let us know the exact color name. Also include your location so we can find out who gets what colors or rather who doesn't get what color (I love the Leonie Blue and it is not offered in the states).

Oh yes it is but it's called Eismeer Blue (same as in Germany). Don't know why VW thought they needed to rename it Leonie Blue for the UK... must think we can't pronounce 'Eismeer'!
swordfish 03-12-2007, 03:45 PM Deep Black
It's pearlescent (think it's called the same worldwide).

Gorgeous looking color!
We can't get it here in the states, all we have is "thunder blue", which is nothing like your car.
Best of luck with it!

Nice choice, can you post a pic with the roof down to see the contrast of the black interior with the red. I have seen red with the cornsilk and it is stunning I would like to compare.
Thanks

Instant £60 fine from the Parking Gestapo in UK! And you're lucky if they don't clamp you!
sethworld 04-24-2007, 01:37 PM The US is much more lax about it... in general the parking lots are owned by the shopping center and not the county.

Well they are here too but the shopping centres employ private parking companies to run them on their behalf then suppose they share the money the get from fines. There was an item in my local paper just a few weeks ago - a woman had parked her 4x4 in an almost totally empty supermarket car park but across 2 spaces. When she came back to it she had been fined £120 ($240)! I'm not sure she intends shopping there again... We over here have a helluva lot to learn from our US cousins in terms of customer relations!

Don't know about anyone else but the parking spaces over here are too small for our cars. I ALWAYS TRY AND PARK OVER 2 SPACES DON'T WANT SOME IDIOT DENTING MY DOORS!!!

Agree. Cars have got quite a lot bigger over the last 20 years but there is apparently a 'standard' width for parking spaces, which was set way back in the late 1950s! If the spaces are too small for our Eoses (which they are) imagine what it must be like trying to park an Audi Q7!
Pepino 04-24-2007, 07:48 PM Parking lot Nazies! you have them there too!?!
That's amazing the spaces are too small for an Eos. It is hard to find a car smaller than an Eos aound these parts. Suppose a scooter is the way to go eh?

It is amazing, yes, but you really do have to breathe in when trying to get in and out. Of course what makes it worse for 2-door cars like the Eos is that the doors are quite a bit longer than on 4-door cars so open wider.
Your spaces in the US are much much bigger than ours! But then of course they have to be to accomodate your battleship-sized cars! They may be a bit smaller these days but when I first went you all drove around in cars nearly a block long! Apart from the VW Beetles which were always popular, that was. In any case, isn't everything in the US that much larger than here, from your portions of french fries to your buildings and landscapes? I just love the US!
sethworld 04-25-2007, 01:07 PM Everything is bigger... true. Side effect of having room to expand I guess. Helps that we aren't on a little island either... places like New York City have space issues too.
Pepino 04-25-2007, 03:02 PM the fries don't help... believe me. :D

:) lol, this is very true.
Another reason the U.S. has so many parking lots in the U.S. is the vast land. I lived in Tokyo for two years and everything was stacked on top each other. Even the parking (and I saw some pretty cool parking garages that were automated. You pull into a area, get out, the floor then moves your car into a garage that then stacks your car 10+ high on a vertical farris-wheel like structure).

I visited Japan a couple of years ago, and actually took photo's of these car parks, what an anorak! But I was fascinated. Could do with some here actually!!

GurnyGub 04-26-2007, 08:46 PM When I test drove the Audi A4 for a couple of days, my wife (who couldn't drive due to a foot injury) said she thought it seemed very wide. I told her the Eos was wider, was that a feeling of interior space?

You would never want to take two spaces here in Canada or the US. People in North America take great offense to people taking up two spaces. You would have more damage than a dent in your door. Many cars have been "keyed" because of that (keyed meaning the angry person will run a key along the side of your car to "teach you a lesson"). Like someone said, because our spaces are larger, there should be no reason to take up more than one space.

People who take up 2 spaces over here are not too popular either... You might get keyed, or if you're lucky a polite (or maybe even impolite!) note left on your windscreen telling you to be a bit more unselfish...

The worst offenders are the kids in BMWs that double park on an angle instead of just pulling in over the line. That always drives me nuts!

nikak 05-28-2007, 03:46 PM Just out of curiosity, i would like to know if the moon rock grey is offered in UK, as i haven't seen anyone having it yet. I live in Greece, own an Eismeer blue/Moon rock grey leather
Not an option here, it's black, cornsilk beige or deep red in the leather department. No grey.
jonesy 06-04-2007, 01:13 PM Hi,
I have a Paprika red with black interior EOS on order but I'll have to wait 1-2 months before it is delivered. In the meantime, can anyone provide a large image about 1280x960 pixels, in either tiff, eps or jpg of a similar model Eos. Preferrably with the roof down. I'd like to use it for my desktop background while I'm waiting. :D
I've seen some images in this forum but they're too small.
Thanks in advance,
Jonesy

Better than here in Los Angeles.. where you hand your keys to a non english speaking immigrant who, chances are, aren't here legaly, and god knows if you got your rims scratched or if they played bumper cars fitting your car into LA street parking. You think the worker cares? he's got a better chance of being deported than climbing up the company's corporate ladder. Think he cares about this rich gringo's car?

..which begs to ask: what are kids doing with BMW's? There are plenty of "character building" underpowered honda civics out there with 150,000 mi on the ODO looking for nice young owner...

Both in Central Oregon. The first one is atop Pilot Butte looking toward the three Sisters. The second is Mt. Bachelor in the background.

Here's a way to stay in the lines and protect your doors . . .

seems like a reasonable idea but can't see these staying on the car long before they are stolen and end up on someone elses car!

I thought that also -- it does say it has a marine cable tether cord that goes inside the door to prevent theft. And yes, there are those real mean crazies out there who will want to do damage to your car just because they see you are trying to protect it.:(

Anyone???
Looks like golden EOSs are rare so here is ours.
Actually wheat beige with black leather. Will get some better pictures whone day when we are out at a nice scenic spot.
On the parking theme we took a LWB Mercedes Sprinter (over 22 feet long) to Plymouth last year and used four parking spaces in Sainsburys - lucky they were not too busy since you need four together!

Where are your exhaust pipes?
Thought it was only the Diesels with hidden tailpipes?
We could not have anything as crude as an exhaust pipe spoiling the line of the car ;)
Ours is not a turbo so we get the lovely clean lines you all know you want - and no ugly tail pipe to keep clean
Will have to ask SWMBO if I can de-badge it - after all I have to clean and polish it!

Nice shiny twin exhaust pipes take a lot of beating and improve the look of any car's rear-end, so afraid we have to differ on that one!
Agreed, the more shiny pipes the better for me.

Nice - Wheat Beige is rare, must be the thought of having a beige car that puts people off.
Make sure the dealer takes all those stickers off before you pick it up.

It's just poor translation. Call it 'Gold' (which it really is) and it might be more popular!
Grendel2501 06-14-2007, 07:05 PM I love my car. Just got, only a few weeks old. It is amazing how many standard features VW offers.
