: Wheel wax????

I've discovered that of the many products on the market for cleaning brake dust and other grime off wheels, I like Eagle 1 wheel cleaner. I'm wondering if (1) anyone else has particular recommendations for product to clean wheels and (2) if anyone puts any type of wax or other protectant on the wheel itself to maintain shine and help fight corrosion.

I forget what my type of wheel is called but it is the standard VW wheel that came on my 2008 Lux and is pictured in my photo of the 74 degree Fall day in Virginia (see photo section).

Thanks!

I try to wash and wax my wheels inside and out every time I rotate the tires, for beauty and to help keep the mud from sticking to the inside of the wheels and making them off-balance. I don't drive much in bad weather, but sometimes it is necessary.

I have the 18" chicago's on my Eos, I have not yet tried this because my new pride and joy is only 3 weeks old but, a trick I used to do on my Morgan's spoked wheels was to spray them with "duck oil" after cleaning.

You can never stop the dust, but it did make cleaning the wheels the next time much easier. I do stress however that you are extremely careful with any oil based product you may spray onto the wheels, make sure you do not contaminate the disc or pads otherwise it goes without saying, you will never have to worry about the dust on your wheels again.
