: APR Chip Installed!!!!
codyallyn 03-15-2007, 05:23 AM I had the APR 91 octane Chip flashed today.
It's awesome!!!
-- despite APR not having the program listed on their website, they do have software available for the ESO 2.0T.
http://www.goapr.com Call them and ask for a retailer near you.
Cheers!

sethworld 03-16-2007, 01:57 AM so what does this do exactly?
codyallyn 03-16-2007, 07:36 AM Bumps the horse power up to 246hp
and torque up to 282lb-ft
so what does this do exactly?
sethworld 03-17-2007, 06:34 PM How much and what is involved with installation?
codyallyn 03-18-2007, 05:55 AM Simply taking it to a retailer, they plug their vag-com into the car, and upload new software.
How much and what is involved with installation?
victorTX 04-24-2007, 04:50 AM so how much does that cost? and will it adversely influence the engine?
The program is probably around $499. It raises the boost pressure for sure but is not detectable by the dealer so there are no warranty issues. APR and GIAC are very reputable chip tuners. I wouldn't shy away from getting one if you like the extra performance.
victorTX 05-01-2007, 01:44 PM Thankx!!!!
archiea 05-21-2007, 11:33 PM yeah but extra performance .. does that mean less engine life? Although I do hear that the 2.0 can be jacked up to like 270HP, so perhaps 240+ is within certain tolerances....
archiea 05-21-2007, 11:40 PM I have to say, that their antitheft system looks pretty interesting....
hmm:rolleyes: I'm wondering if thay make one for my VR6 and what HP it would made?
archiea 06-20-2007, 09:29 AM 251....and a half? ;D
Hornet9 07-15-2007, 04:26 PM Hows the 2.0T going with the APR remap ?
vbeos 09-09-2007, 03:12 AM I've got over 2000 miles with the APR Stage 1, 93 octane tune and love it. I never turn it off and haven't had any problems. It's very driveable.
evolvingpowercat 01-04-2008, 11:25 PM Three questions - I am considering performance upgrades to my Eos too!
Have you had any problems with the VW Boost Diverter valve? - have heard accounts that the stock VW DV does not stand up to the higher boost pressure of a chipped engine. Or is just Forge trying to scare people into buying their $250 DV upgrade?
Did you do anything to the air intake system like the Carbonio ram air, replacing factory air filter with K&N, or VF Engineering or other Cold Air intake to go along with the APR chip?
Thanks!
Deanintemp 02-15-2008, 12:41 PM I had my EOS tuned for the APR-93 Octane and absolutely love it. The performance increase is VERY noticeable with peak horsepower at 252 Hp, and torque at 303 Lb-Ft! Also, since the engine is tuned to run much more efficiently, my gas mileage has actually gone up by nearly 5 mpg (assuming I am not pushing the vehicle)! If there is a downside, it is in the "off-the-line" performance. The power boost turns the tires over very easily and if you are really pushing the vehicle from the line you must turn off traction control. Otherwise the car lunges as traction control attempts to take over with alternate braking of each wheel. I had the dual programs installed such that, through the use of the cruise buttons, I can toggle between stock program and performance program. This option is important if 93-octane is not available or if taking the car to the dealer for service. With the car toggled to stock program, APR is undetectable by technicians.
Also, with the exception of additional power, there is absolutely no difference in ride quality, engine idling, and engine smoothness between stock and performance programs.
Since I was already using 93-octane, I estimate that the gas savings will pay for the APR tuning in less than 2-years. That's assuming I don't push the car more than I would have...yeah, right!!!
jjbtexas 02-21-2008, 04:07 AM the VR6 has 250hp so u could probably get more that 251 and a half
cb391 02-21-2008, 04:41 AM You can chip the V6 but the gain is nothing like chipping the 2.0. Having the turbo is most of the reason. And there has been more work done with the 2.0
DR FIRE 02-24-2008, 05:40 PM hello, does anyone knows if i can find ecu tuning or exhaust with 4 pipes , for Vw Eos 14 tsi 122ps??
neh321 02-25-2008, 08:46 AM hello, does anyone knows if i can find ecu tuning or exhaust with 4 pipes , for Vw Eos 14 tsi 122ps??
ABT do a 4-pipe exhaust for the Eos. Looks great but costs plenty!
Google in ABT and it should take you there.
mdsars 03-30-2008, 07:44 PM Hi , i have the 1.6 version and i want to upgrade the engine . Can anyone tell me which are my options ??
AS far as I'm aware there is not a lot you can do to the basic 1.6. Most changes are only possible on the turbo engined versions.
But someone may want to correct me on this one.
Kieranol 03-31-2008, 08:30 AM anything available for the TDi engines?
boac69 03-31-2008, 11:19 AM anything available for the TDi engines?
Yes:
2 choices:
A: add a extra box of tricks between the pump and ECU, something like a "Tunit" available from www.tunit.com available for DIY or
B: Have a ECU remap from a specialist company like "superchips" at www.superchips.co.uk I believe they have agents in OZ.
Either will give you about 170 bhp and a big increase in TQ almost to the limit of a DSG box. I have only read test reports for either method in VW driver mag and both seem to have impressed them. I hope this helps
HollywoodCD1 05-29-2008, 12:12 AM Hi dudes: just put my first week in the seat with my 08 EOs, Candy white loaded.
I have chipped both of my past 03 and 06 TDIs with Upsolute chipping and the torque increase is out of this world.
My Upsolute dealer is doing my 08 EOS shortly and ensures 40Hp and 50some lb ft.
Are any of you guys having rattles in the trunk?
What a machine, wow. I will start with a very conservative side body rail kit enhancement, But, can the EOS ever take a bodykit well. I may drop it 20mm but I dont enjoy any rubbing for sure.
Have fun guys and lets keep turning the heads.
