Not many members yet but hope to see the Club grow.

I have a (14/07/06 - launch day - registered) Eos T-FSi Sport in silver with red leather.

This site looks remarkably like the VW/Audi Forum site and you can see a picture of it there (I couldn't get this site to accept the same picture as an Avatar).

Look forward to some interesting discussion!

Welcome to the site, I just put this together a day ago and I'm happy to see 3 users already sign up. It is also good to see VW bring back a more aggressive coupe like the Corrado was.

Hi Andrew
I have had on order for six months a new Met black 2 Ltr TDI DSG Eos
and have just been informed by the dealer it should arrive with them this Monday 18/12/06 but I have decided not to have it registered until the first of Jan 07,
Cant wait to try out the DSG gearbox with the diesel engine, should be a good combination.
I hope the Eos club will grow as more Eos cars become available, six months is a bit to long to wait for one.

Happy to say I bought a gray, manual, with sports package. I just took it out for lunch and put the top down in downtown Boston.

Lenny,

Welcome to the site and congrats. Isn't it a bit cold in Boston this time of year to drop the top? Love the spirit, I'm sure it turned heads too.

Bill,

Welcome and congrats. Do you know if the engine will also run on bio-diesel? I am guessing you are in Europe?

Hi Andy
Don't know as yet if the car will run on Bio Diesel, I hope so but will let you know when I get it.
And yes I am all the way from Bonnie Scotland, but with the Eos roof down you could anywhere, the only thing it's a bit colder hear that where you are I guess.

Hello all

I Have stumbled across this site via another Eos owners club site. I have a TDi Sport and have Chicargo's, Black leather, Music upgrade and Silver paint. Picked here up in Brighton upon return from Afghanistan. She has replaced a Mk5 Golf GTi which had regular trips to the Nurburg Ring. Eos roof is constantly in boot regardless of temperature.

Hi guys,

I'm expecting to get my hands on my pearl black 2.0TFSI DSG sometime in January. Extras are 18" Chicago wheels, lux pack, Dynaudio sound system, MF steering wheel with paddles, beige leather and Eos suitcases (FOC at wife's request to seal the deal!!).

Darren - you're probably the closest Eos owner to me - I see you'll just have picked yours up a day or two ago - hope it's going well.

I'll post again when I get a delivery date.

Cheers

Hi All
I hope they don't make the same mistake with your car as they have with mine,
The car has arrived at the dealers after a six month wait but with the wrong multifunction steering wheel fitted, (No DSG paddles) I ordered the correct one for the DSG box,

I only hope that the correct wheel can be retrofitted at a later date, the dealer cant tell me at the moment.
Other than that the car looks great and will give more feedback in January when I have it on the road.

Nice to see another member from Scotland.

Hi everyone! Like Paj45 I stumbled upon this site and it's good to see a wide geographical spread of owners. I traded my 230 bhp Mazda RX8 after nearly three years of ownership for the 200 bhp Eos Sport T FSI. It was the dealers "demo" with all the extras. Most importantly it had a similar colour to the RX8, Island Grey Pearl, which coupled with the Red (more burgundy..) Nappa Leather gives a very sophisticated look. Must confess tho', that I did like the Silver colour too, but my Wife doesn't like silver......... Took car for a spin and I was hooked. The only items I didn't really like were the Chicago alloys that came with the vehicle and I'm currently getting a "shimmer" through the floorboards, particularly between 60-70mph. Paj45 has the same. I have informed the dealer who in turn is bringing this to VW's attention. I may well insist on replacements! Could be the extra size to 18" rims, and extra width to the tyre is giving just too much resonance from road surfaces. Seems to ease in wet weather! Another bonus is the economy, I'm getting around 28-29mpg commuting 60 miles a day as against 18-20mpg with the RX8. The only downside is my initial dealer experience with VW's first of two recalls regarding the roof. Up to the recall I didn't have any problems. Tell you more later!

A merry Christmas and a good new year to all.

The Eos is being delivered to me on the 31st Dec from Verve Wishaw for the New year.
Have spoken to VW Customer Car about the missing paddle shifts, the are going to speak to there technical Dept early in the new year to check what's involved in replacing the Multifunction steering fitted at the moment with the correct wheel with the paddles.
Hope its just a matter of swapping the unit over, but will update when I find out.

:)

I picked up my Eos on the 1st August last year. I have a friend who owns a VW dealership and managed to get in early!

There were a lot of Silver ones at the time and all the promotional literature showed silver models so I decided to go for the black as I'd seen a couple of Passats in Black and thaught it off set the chome bits nicely.

I have to say that I've been very pleased with the car. It always drew a crowd once when I parked in in Dartmouth having just picked it up!

I went for the 18" alloys which look really great against the black and opted for the 2 litre FSI which is lively enough. I also got the I-pod connection installed- so much easier than carting CDs around!

I've experienced a problem with the sills collecting water in heavy rain which then drops on your my leg when I open the door and for a couple of months there was a chirping sound from the room mechanism when the roof was up which seams to have resolved itself but have no other problems to report.

Can't wait for Spring when I can get the roof down again. I'm still a bit self conscious and feel a bit ridiculous with the roof down in winter!

Great to see a sight has been set up. There are stiil so few on the road and it's good to get a bit of feedback from other owners

I'm from Boston area and just picked up our EOS turbo on December 16th. We have almost 1,000 miles on it and we are averaging 29 mpg. Had the top down one mild day and the pop up little wind screen along with the screen behind the drivers seat kept the front seats calm and without wind. So far after some rain, getting the car washed etc, no leaking anywhere.

We got the silver with sports packagesince they had it in stock. Very comfortable, cannot beleive the front seat leg room in this car, and with the 12 way power seats and fully adjustable steering wheel it is a very comfortable car. So far we love it

Hi Andrew
A good new year to you, and yes the car was delivered to me on the 30th Dec but could not use it until the first of the year, it's an Eos Sport TDI, DSG in Met black with stereo upgrade and three optional packs including xenon headlamps.
I can highly recommend the TDI with the DSG gearbox combination, it's the bets automatic I have owned, what a pity it came with the wrong multifunction steering wheel, No Paddles, it would have given me something else to play with, but as for the rest of the car I am highly delighted with it.
You asked me if it could run on bio-diesel, the answer is Volkswagen advise against it as its use could cause damage to the injection system, no
bio-diesel available in my area anyway.

Hi Bill - as a prospective Eos owner [currently A4 Quattro 2.0TFSI] is the Dynaudio package worth it? I have the Bose upgrade Audi do and am happy, so am actively considering the upgrade on the Eos, but some user experience would help me decide!!!

Great site, useful too!!

Hi all, just to introduce myself as a prospect owner:

Chris, from Holland, presently driving an MX-5; both my daughter (aged 10) and wife lie open driving, so we were looking for alternatives to the two-seater.
I recently changed jobs, and leaving the lease car behind provided the right excuse.....I looked at Audi A4, Saab 93, but finally the Volvo C70 drew my intention, because of the hardtop - alternative french cars where not my taste. The, the Eos drew my attention, and a test drive of the 2.0 FSI with wife and daughter was a success. I think the sunroof in the Eos has convinced more people.

We ( or better, I) wanted a V6, but my wife convinced me not to do so, when we found out that the boot space would be suffering from the two batteries in the back. The compromise is the 2.0TFSI DSG, but i will have it chip tuned by ABT (under VW warranty) to 240 HP/ 330 Nm, which is pretty similar to the V6's output, but with a more responsive torque profile -- everybody happy;) .

We now expect our Samoa Red, Titan Black 2.0TFSI+, Dynaudio, Nav, Bixenon, PDC by mid February.

Chris

We just took delivery of our Eos before New Years and had to drive from Texas to Nebraska and return within three days. The trip was just after a snow storm and cold weather so driving with the top down was out. The Eos drove great holding the road beautifully and averaging 28.0 miles to the gallon after break in.

We waited nearly six months from order to delivery, but it was worth it. We did receive advice to not put the Eos through pressure car washes due to possible leakage at the a pillar.

Luggage space with the top up is fair, but limited with the top down.

On the drive north and the return, many drivers and passagers in other vehicles took many long looks at our paprika red Eos.

Another new member - after test driving a TDi today [the dealer had TWO TFSI's 2 days ago and has sold them both since! Indication of demand!!!] have no qualms about ordering mine to replace my Audi A4 2.0TFSI Quattro. I must confess, I was slightly worried that this might be a 'hairdressers' car [apologies to all hairdressers as this is grossly unfair, but I hope you know what I mean!!!] and as I cover 40k miles a year wanted to be sure of durability [the A4 is solid as a rock, had three in a row and survived head on collision in number 1!!!!] - I was sold on both counts! Ordered Dynaudio despite not having heard one or having any feedback to a post regarding its perceived value - but hey, I like music and it is widely respected, so that's good enough for me - plus I have the 'relatively' equivalent Bose upgrade on the A4 and have been very happy with it! I use an iPod with an FM transmitter in the car at present, so the iPod connection is a must for me and I can't wait to hear the difference!

Interestingly, we've had a bit of rain down here in Sussex recently, and when my wife opened the door at first there was a great 'splosh' of water that just missed her feet - having seen various posts about this I asked the salesperson, who said 'I've noticed that too, I think that's just the way it is' !!!! Nuff said - it won't spoil my enjoyment of a car I hope to get before the end of Spring!!! WKYP - keep up the good work!

I took my 2 little cousins out with roof down earlier, 8 oclock at night pitch blank.... about 8c outside. Heated seats were on in front, as well as heater. My comment to the one sitting in front is your bum warm sitting there....Yeah he said and up me back...I shouted to the one in the back, are you ok back there...Really cold I am, he said put the ceiling back on.

While we were out, both were spotting fire engines, amberlances going past with syrens on. You do see more of the world.

I am picking my new Eos up tomorrow at 11.30 and I can't wait. I have gone for the 2l Sports TDI in black with black nappa leather interior. Fortunately I only went into the garage two weeks ago and there it was on the salesmen's computer. I didn't have to wait for months for an order. Some unfortunate person ordered it and had to cancel!!!!!

Happy owner of a red 2.0, DSG EOS. Found it on line and bought the dealer car. Picked it up in November right before Thanksgiving.

I was looking to replace my 1998 cabrio and was horrified to discover the cabrio was out of production. I've been driving vdubs since I learned to drive. I was heartbroken until Hubby did some research and found the EOS. Ya gotta love German engineering.

I wanted a manual and he wanted automatic so the paddle shift thingy was the perfect compromise. I love the way it handles, the pick up, just everything. (My heated seats are a particular treat right now :D) My husband is a foot taller and 100lbs heavier than I so the ease adjusting the seats is a real God send.

Can't wait to have the top down all summer.
