Okay my Eos has been built but apparantly the dealer cannot give me a delivery date because there is a backlog of cars waiting to be shipped, until that's complete the computers will not be updated with a delivery date. Do any of the Moderators or VW workforce who read these threads know any different?
Incidentally, this is my second EOS, the first was rejected for primarily roof noise.
I love the car, design, drive and build quality, disappointed that the bluetooth on the steering wheel doesn't work in the UK however I had a pretty neat Parrot system fitted which did the job.
1st Car Midnight blue with beige interior (factory spec and couldn't be changed when I ordered but I was desperate for the car and decided not to wait)
This car is Paprika, beige interior, dual climate, 18" Chicago, luxury pack/winter pack. Will have blue tooth fitted and a Harmen Karden system for my ipod as I had the Ipod fittment supplied by VW in the blue one was disappointing as you can only have 5 play lists plus it doesn't tell you what you are listening to on the radio screen.

Hmmm. Very disappointing to hear that. Mine comes in 3 weeks and I also paid for the iPod treatment. That doesn't sound that great bearing in mind it costs more than many iPods!!! What is the Harmon Kardon system you mention then? The Parrot system appears to be the 'bluetooth system of choice' on this forum!!

I am also interested in an alternative to the VW offering for the ipod. Please post some information.

I'm having my Eos built this week, and the only info I can say is when I spoke to my dealer, he said at present there was a back log, as there had been a strike at the docks.Hope this explains

this system has a separate screen and control wheel just like your ipod - it costs 74.99 at the moment but then you have to get it fitted.
Note if you do purchase one ask for the new minature antenna adaptor as the Eos has a new arial adaptor, this cost me an additional £7.99. I drive at least 3 hours a day so I see it as every penny well spent.

Wow - that looks great, just what I was expecting on the VW version in terms of functionality! Is it an intrusive fitting involved damage to fittings or can it be removed easily???

Well, I'm going to tell the technician where to fit my bits, ie the wheel will go down by the handbrake and the screen just to the drivers left side on top of the dash. There are permanent fixings or tape which obviously wouldn't damage the dashboard. My friend has one in their Jag and there are no wires etc. My Parrott kit in the blue Eos was fitted to the drivers left and arms reach and there was no damage as the dash kept the screen in place and you could just see the wire poke out. Sorry I cant supply any photos just yet!

Many thanks for providing the information, it does add the functionality that is lacking in the VW offering, just not as neat.

Hi
I ordered my Eos last September for delivery March. I was told it was ready for shipment end of February. I am still waiting and was told yesterday that there is a backlog waiting for shipment but my dealer doesn't know why or even when I can expect it! I am hoping for better news next week. Can't wait though!!
