: Eos Meet 2009!!
Stephb 02-05-2009, 10:22 PM Hi everyone!!!
Well soon enough it will be time for us all to have our roofs down and be out washing our cars on a sunday morning!
I've been talking to a few other members on the site and we've been discussing a meet this year.
So any ideas on where we can meet up and who would be interested.
Hopefully in the summer when its a bit warmer!!
Steph xx
cambourne7 02-05-2009, 11:01 PM Needs to be somewhere where we can take over a car park .... are you thinking June for the first one and maybe a second early sept?

I wash my car every Sunday morning 52 weeks a year! It's just a bit more pleasant in spring and summer..
cambourne7 02-08-2009, 02:46 PM I still have not washed the car properly since i bought it that will change though as were moving next month and i will have a garage i can put the car in :)

I've washed mine once in six months - and it leaked when I did! :p That's why I didn't bother with it again!
Anyway, back to the original thread by Steph, if we can make it a bit more southerly I would probably make the journey ;)
NinjaDonkey 02-09-2009, 11:19 AM Sounds good to me...!
As Doolally said, southerly is good. TGI's in Watford where we met at the last meet was do-able...
cambourne7 02-10-2009, 04:44 PM thats a 2 hour drive for me but do-able
Kuz_Starr 02-10-2009, 06:48 PM Watford sounds perfect ;)
Lucari 02-10-2009, 07:18 PM I'm up for a meet any time after mid April (when my car is delivered).
However, 'Dubs in the Park' is also on mid May which I was also planning to go to. Its only around the corner for me. I'm not sure if you can book places but it would be good to have an Eos grouping.
Kuz_Starr 02-10-2009, 07:35 PM I just noticed your 'no roof - but spare in the boot'
I like

Can you post some more details on this please? I'd love to go if it is what I think it is (being slightly blonde you need to explain these things to me!) :p
Stephb 02-12-2009, 10:37 AM I'm away in may :(
Steph xx
Doolallygirl 02-12-2009, 01:30 PM http://www.ltv-vwc.org.uk/datp/index.html
It's ok I think I found it! This sounds good....bit far away but if it's good enough weather it's a good reason to stretch my Eos roofless legs as it may be (assuming the leaks have been patched up and the car returned to me by then!). ;)
cambourne7 02-12-2009, 02:00 PM looks good is there a cost???
Lucari 02-12-2009, 02:35 PM I think its free to get in but I'm not sure. There's lots of VWs there from classics to modern ones. I don't remember seeing an EOS there last year tho.
I'll try and find out and post a new thread.
I May be up for this, if I can make the eventual date, but as I am a shift worker, it will depend on the date. As I live in Kent, the South end of the UK would suit me better.
cambourne7 03-10-2009, 09:51 PM emailed the organiser so who can make it lets get some numbers :)
emailed the organiser so who can make it lets get some numbers :)
If I have my (very basic compared to some of you with all the trimmings) car by then I'll be there.
Doolallygirl 03-11-2009, 09:53 AM I'm there assuming my car is back by then ;)
NinjaDonkey 03-11-2009, 01:58 PM I think I could make that. Nothing booked for that day!
Gonna put it in my calendar.
Doolallygirl 03-11-2009, 04:58 PM Ninja I'm booking out your back seats in case my car is still not dry or in one piece by then! :p
Lucari 03-11-2009, 08:04 PM Should have mine by then so I'll definately be there.
NinjaDonkey 03-12-2009, 11:23 AM Vicky, you're more than welcome to the back seats. Just be warned that if the sun is out then you'll need a scarf (and quite possibly biggles goggles :))!

Lol you know I'd look cute! hahahaha according to the dealers they should be working on my car today (although was a bit disconcerted when they mentioned the fact it was black - I didn't bother correcting them so I hope it's my car anyway!). Hopefully I shall be driving myself to the meet! :p
Doolallygirl 03-16-2009, 12:30 PM Yay :) will be driving myself and hopefully my other half to this now I've got my baby back!! :p wootwoot!!
Stephb 03-16-2009, 05:23 PM I'm glad you got your car back DLG. Sadly I won't be able to come because of problems I'm having at home. I hope you all have a good time though :)
Steph xx
SiJ2000 03-16-2009, 06:47 PM Count me in... Also for a Watford meet in the next couple of months too...
Everyone who doesn't know how to lube up, get some, bring it and i'll show you!
nail-z-gull 03-16-2009, 07:19 PM I could be tempted with 'dubs in the park'. A short blast (140 miles) along the M4 for me, and would be nice to get a gaggle of EOS for a photo shoot.
IF I have my Eos by then I shall be there - maybe its first 'outing'.
Doolallygirl 03-17-2009, 11:22 AM Blokey is being a miserable bugger and won't be joining me on the Dubz meet - chances are I won't find my way - being female and not capable of going up the road without getting lost - but I will give it a bloody good go!!
:p

Wot - no Satnav?!
Doolallygirl 03-17-2009, 03:02 PM Wot - no Satnav?!
No.... my Eos is the most basic of basic in comparison to most of you lots :(

Cheers Steph. Hope it's not toooo serious your troubles :o ;)
Lucari 03-17-2009, 06:55 PM A friend of mine, a newly single independant woman, found it difficult to drive places as her partner used to do all the driving. Then she found love with some bloke call Tom (or was it TomTom). Now he directs her with his Irish lilt and now she truely is independant.....
Stephb 03-17-2009, 10:25 PM Cheers Steph. Hope it's not toooo serious your troubles :o ;)
Hmm not too serious only me and Mathew breaking up so I'm in a bit of a mess at the moment. I need to sort myself out but it's not easy.
neh321 03-18-2009, 09:39 AM No.... my Eos is the most basic of basic in comparison to most of you lots :(
I don't have a built-in one either (way, way too expensive) but Halfords were doing a great offer before Christmas so I finally relented and got a Navigon for £65. It is absolutely brilliant. Best toy ever!

My friends have them and they just irritate the crap out of me! lol  no pleasing some people I guess! It's the contrite voice they use to tell me where to go! I'm the kinda gal who wouldn't think twice about telling my satnav where to go before promptly disposing of it through the nearest open window! :D

They have a button to disable the irritating voice.
I ought to have my wife fitted with one of those...
SiJ2000 03-18-2009, 01:02 PM I bought the MFD2 on eBay... Cost about £400... Fitted myself (easy peasy), so have factory sat nav for a third of the price! :)

Ouch! :D
NinjaDonkey 03-18-2009, 04:07 PM Vicky, you could always meet me on the way and follow me there!
I have sat-nav but you won't hear that in your car!

Doesn't sound like such a bad idea - I will see if I can cajole Gary to come - if not I will Facebook you before and we can arrange a meeting place! Cheers ears! :p :D
John_F 03-18-2009, 10:40 PM I think I've missed something here. I've trawled back through this thread but can't find a date for the "Meet." Can someone oblige with this - although its a bit of a trek from Devon I'd like to try & make it.
I'm going to Volksworld on the 29th March at Sandown Park. Anyone else going?
Isn't it the VW thing in Berkshire in May???
Doolallygirl 03-19-2009, 02:10 PM Yes guys Dubz in the Park: http://www.dubsatthepark.co.uk/

Steph xx
Yes indeedy! Got a feeling you have some legal issues right?! ;)
You can mail me on vw525@hotmail.com if you need anything and I will help to the best of my ability! (although legal advice is very loosely based on what I've picked up along the way rather than by the book!) :D
Stephb 03-19-2009, 09:32 PM Thanks hun I've sent you an email, Sorry if its a bit long
Steph xx

NinjaDonkey 03-27-2009, 09:54 AM Oh, I thought it was a "just turn up" kind of event... I didn't realise we had to book a pitch! :)
i have added it to the calendar on here.

Can I book in even though I don't even own the Eos yet??? I am so hoping that it'll be delivered before the event!
SiJ2000 03-27-2009, 02:08 PM I thought you could turn up and pay on the day!
Doolallygirl 03-27-2009, 02:50 PM You have to PAY?!! Can we all not just meet in a carpark there then instead?!
You have to PAY?!! Can we all not just meet in a carpark there then instead?!
Pay?? How much?? There's nothing on their website about charges.
Lucari 03-27-2009, 07:53 PM I don't remember paying last year but I did go on foot. If we want to all be in the same area, then it would be worthwhile meeting up before as they park you as you arrive.
cambourne7 04-05-2009, 08:13 PM Hi
I dont think you have to pay, but i think they need to have an idea of numbers so they can allocate space.
No one has confirmed to me and the organiser is chasing me for numbers.
:(

I'm in (fingers crossed the washer problem is dealt with by then though!) :o
Richard G 04-05-2009, 09:17 PM I'll be there too.........
I'm in - assuming I have my car by then!
SiJ2000 04-06-2009, 07:02 AM me too! Im in!
NinjaDonkey 04-06-2009, 08:22 AM Count me in also.
I should hopefully be in a fit state from the night before as I'm off to a stag doo!
Lucari 04-08-2009, 08:54 PM I'm in, especially as its just around the corner for me (literally). Back to my place for tea and biccies.

Oooh I might hold you to that! :D
Lucari 04-23-2009, 11:05 PM Hi,
Is there any news on this ? My car is here and I'm raring to go !!!
Lucari 04-30-2009, 07:06 PM Its seems to have gone quiet from Cam. I've dropped an email to the organisers to see what needs to be done.
Lucari 05-02-2009, 08:03 AM Just my luck. Wifey has informed me we are at a wedding on the 16th and staying over. I may be able to make it back but I may have to swap the car for the weekend if I need more passenger space. If I am 'sans-car', I'll walk over to say Hi.
Doolallygirl 05-05-2009, 10:42 AM Just under two weeks to go guys. :)
SiJ2000 05-05-2009, 10:56 AM Really looking forward to it!!
S
SimonV 05-05-2009, 05:35 PM Can't make it i'm afraid as I am flying competition model gliders in Ipswich that day. Bit of a shame really as I work just up the road from the meet during the week. Hope the day is a good one for you all.
Dobbo 05-07-2009, 06:25 PM Any idea of time and where we will meet at Easthampstead Park ? I don't have all that long but I can be there between 12:00 and 14:00.
blackmagic 05-26-2009, 09:35 PM Who went? How did it go? When the next meet?
Should have mine by then:D
Dobbo 05-27-2009, 07:43 AM The meet evolved into the Dubs in the Park thread. See http://www.vweosclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2331&page=2
