At last the Eos has appeared in Glass's Guide (the UK trade value bible for those not UK-based who might not know it) - April edition.

For a July 2006 2.0 T-FSI with 13000 miles on the clock they quote a Retail Value of £23425 (against a list price in July 2006 of £23235) or a Trade Value of £21425.

For a 2.0 TDI of the same vintage figures are £22600 Retail or £20600 Trade Value against what they say was a list price of £21597, although not sure that is right?

This is for the basic car with no extras and looks pretty good to me; according to Glass's your Eos is worth more now than it cost! Proof that your Eos is a quality German product and a sensible buy as well as great fun to own!

WOW! Actually that's not just good, it's fabulous!! Better put your money into buying Eoses, rather than Houses!!!

Great information [for us in the UK!!]

It is good news for us in the UK. Hopefully if it becomes ever popular and VW keeps drip, drip, supply the same, in a few years the residual values will be up there with Mini's and BMW's (hopefully):)

Yes definitely! I get my car through my employers Car Ownership Scheme where the monthly amount I pay is linked to servicing/maintenance costs and residual value as well as purchase price. This makes Mercedes/BMW's a better proposition in general than Fords etc due to the residuals. The Eos is still quite highly priced in comparison to these, I suspect because the residuals were unknown at first, plus concern over the complexity of the roof and its durability over 3 years [I have no way of knowing if this is true, just my guess!]. It hasn't put me off, of course! Owning a car for me is an emotional as well as financial equation, and the head/heart balance must be in equilibrium!!! It will be just my luck to see the monthly costs reduce just after I take delivery!!
