Anyone in the UK read What Car? magazine? For those who don't know it's one of the better UK motoring journals and usually pulls no punches.
The Open-Top Winner in their 2007 Awards is - you've guessed it: the VW Eos 2.0T-FSI.
Hope they don't mind if I just quote a couple of comments:
"This VW isn't just about wind in the hair: it also puts the wind up its rivals in almost every area"
"Are you shocked to see the Eos finish ahead of the cracking Mazda MX-5 (Miata) and the superb Porsche Boxster S? You shouldn't be, because this is an absolute belter of a car."
"Volkswagen has watched what the other manufacturers have been up to in the coupe-cabrio sector, then it has gone out and built a car that betters the lot of them."
"The Eos is fantastic to drive, especially with the 2.0 litre turbocharged FSI engine from the Golf GTI beneath the bonnet."
"Yes, the Eos is pricey, but you more than get what you pay for. In addition, it's a relatively safe place to invest your cash because it should still be worth 51% of its list price after three years' use.
The Eos is a cracking car to buy, and it'll be a hoot to own. What more can you ask for?"
They know what they're talking about!
