: Owners poll

This one is for Andrew (and others).
As a keen forum user I get the impression that this forum is populated with owners and potential owners (majority?) however it's difficult to get the real flavour of the forum.

It would be interesting to have a poll to find out the ratio of owners to non-owners.

What do any others think?

The software can handle polls. If I was a moderator I'd change it up for you. Maybe you can edit your initial post and include a poll?

When you create a topic you are able to add a poll on your own. No worries, I have added the poll to this topic.

Not yet, just wait till it arrives.
But vote in the potential owners section.

Cheers

Please remember to vote in this poll if you have not already done so, so we can get a representitve sample of owners and potential owners (n=24). At the last count 79% owners and 21% potential.
Thanks to all those who have taken part but it is still a tiny fraction of the membership.

Hi, all just a reminder for those who have not voted yet in this poll. Its nearly closing and we still have only a fraction of club members voting (37/464). If you have not done so get your votes cast now!:)

Hi Graham,
I pick up my EOS Monday afternoon - after poll close. I've already voted as a potential owner. Don't get a button to change my vote. Perhaps you can switch my vote. Surprised you didn't get a better response.

I was surprised as well at the lack of participants considering our member base, hence the reminder yesterday. Still looking at the stats it has appeared for a long time that only 73% are owners and 27% are potential owners. The conversion rate from potential to actual may be actual but since you can't change your vote its impossible to tell.

However if VW ramp up advertising and production then we might get a big increase in real owners. But the only way to tell would be to start another poll later on in the year to see if the ratio has changed.

Thanks to all those who are still participating, still another few hours to go!!!

Thanks for co-ordinating Graham .... I would suspect the ratio is probably to close to the truth or perhaps skewed a bit to owners. There are probably more non-owners who have joined but not used the site much, including respond to the poll. In future, I wonder if there is any way you can tell WHO responds to the poll, or does that breeech confidentiality accords.

Thanks for that Fred.

Perhaps Andrew can let us know about who responded?

A further poll, later on the year say Sept/Oct will give us another sample to see if the ratio remins the same.

I guess we should all know what a SWMBO is but I'm sorry to say its meaning escapes me completely. It seems to refer to your wife/partner but what on earth does it stand for?

Very thorough explanation - but for me and I think most of us the derivation is certainly from Rumpole of the Bailey - must have struck a chord!!!
