I look in the back of the trunk, (by back i mean the side closer to the license plate) I found 2 straps on the inside of the trunk, I'm sure we all have it, but is it design to hold something that I missed? Do you all know what it's for?

It is for the safety triangle that those in Europe get. I use mine to hold a Maglite.

Haven't tried just yet, but I'm thinking my baseball bat would maybe fit. Not that I'm angry, just Italian. You know, keeping the final season of the Sopranos in mind.

I take my Eos to Germany a few times a year and am a bit miffed that UK cars don't come fully equipped for the rest of Europe, where the warning triangle is mandatory in many countries. How much do VW gain by omitting this simple bit of kit?
The only complaint I have with my dealer is that my car didn't have euro-standard numberplates when it was delivered, even though they knew that I went across the Channel. To be fair, they changed them gratis immediately I mentioned it.

Mine didn't even have a tax disc; the dealer was so excited about delivering their first Eos they completely forgot about it! I spent the weekend worrying that someone had nicked it when I'd parked the car open but they apologised profusely on the Monday and came around specially with it!
Manufacturers NEVER give you anything until they have to! BMW would have sold you a car without wheels if they could get away with it!

I live in Harrisburg, NC, USA.....and just purchased one of the subject "warning triangles" from my dealer for $17.35 USD.
I guess it would be safe to say that VW probably saves around $9.00 cost, by "deleting" that item from the EOS and shipping it to various parts of the world where the triangle is NOT required.
However, I believe that it was $17.35 well spent just in case I ever need to use it for myself or another motorist in need.....:)
