SO ... 16th August at my place. Is everyone still on for that?? The field will be mowed and a specially flat place with concrete will be provided for you know who!!! If it rains we can picnic in the house or in a barn. Lots of fun I hope:D .

I'm flagging this up again cos I know many are on holiday. If I could find our original thread I'd pm all those who said they want to come ... BUT ... so I'll keep nagging away so that I catch everyone's attention as they return from their holidays. 16th August in Kent, near Sevenoaks, picnic, tractor driving for those so inclined, walk in the woods or just stare at our beautiful cars!

Hi

I am one of those who said they were going ( I can't find the original thread either ) but sadly I can't now be there. It's my ( grown-up ) son's birthday on the 16th and I thought I could get to the meet as well as his celebration. Turns out he is staying overnight on the Saturday with his wife and our grandson and although he is a VW owner too we can't get permission to come out and play with all of you during the day..........

Please can we have another meet soon?

Richard

PS I just discovered that a local hostelry near to where I live ( 2 miles from Junction 10 of the M25 ) frequently hosts car club meets on the large grassy area in front of the Fairmile Arms pub just off the A3 in Cobham. In fact I just googled it and there are very regular meets including one this Saturday! Have a look at ]www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=192588[/url] Looks like it could be a suitable venue for us next time?.................

As far as I am concerned, the more times we meet the better - more chances to talk to like-minded lovers of all things Eos (how sad does that sound? - but I don't care!)

I have found the old thread thanks to V6Bandit :) So I will pm those of you who were interested. :) :)
Richard, sorry you can't make that day - as I said, the more meetings the merrier>. Simon, the grass will be gone and there is a concrete area just for you (it's called the road - no, seriously, you can park yours very close to the rest but on the concrete. BUt the field has had cars on it before with no damage so don't panic!!)

The field is mown, all is level, the concrete is clean! Now all we need are the cars and we have ourselves an Eosmeet.

I'm still in. Need to keep this thread active so people know about it! :)

What shall we bring with us? Great weather would be a good answer I suppose but in reality nobody can promise that! ;)

Bring a picnic. We'll provide the drinks and I'll make a cake or two! If it rains we can eat indoors and stare lovingly at our cars outside!! It won't rain (:))

Well jinxed CIB!!

I'll see if I can dig out my boules set, thats always good for a laugh.
Are we going it alone on the picnic, or can we co-ordinate to get a big buffet selection?
Should be a good day out, dont forget the sun cream!!

Tim, if you want to coordinate everyone's food, go ahead!!! I'll do drinks and cakes - it's about the only thing I can cook without burning.
We have a giant 'pick-up-sticks' which is also good fun. And we'll set up a tractor obstacle course (well away from the cars!!).

Shame some of you can't get here. We will be a select few (5 cars so far and still some days to go - not bad! - SiJ2000 are you coming???) I'm sure we'll do another one soon - and if, as has been mentioned on the forum, VW stop production of the Eos, what a very select band we will be.

I have pm'd all those who said they're coming. So you should now have directions of how to get here. Let me know if there's a problem. It should be fun!

Looking forward to it too, hope i get home from work in time tomorrow so I can clean the car a bit, bit filthy at the moment!!

CIB
08-14-2009, 11:17 PM
My car is so dirty even I can't tell what colour it is! My husband is going to clean it for me (THAT'S why I let him drive it form time to time) - he just read that - I won't tell you what he said, but he's still going to clean it!!
Well, there'll be 5 cars on Sunday. And my Passat. And the tractor. Bring your cameras.

Is the tractor a convertible as well?

Is the tractor a convertible as well?
Well it certainly doesn't have a roof!! And it is a collector's item - as our cars are threatening to be, if what we read is true - so it kind of belongs in the line up!!

Sounds as though you all had a great day, look forward to the photo's.
The wife is on two other forums but says neither of them compares to the friendlyness of this one - just shows how nice EOS owners are !

I can find Bluewater, it's that massive chalk pit filled with shops and loads of car parks (so still a high risk of not finding you again anyway!) ;)

I am still very sore with my sunburn from the three hour drive to find you all and still very angry that they don't know how to use road name placards in the Kent countryside! Where is Terry's Lodge Lane anyway???!

What a great day, so relaxing -especially chugging round on the tractor. Thanks CIB for hosting, great location. Was just super going to feed the calves and see the piglets and baby chickens. Bring on the ploughing competition!!

See you all soon, and Doolallygirl next time meet us and we can pose in a convoy on the way there!!!

Did anyone actually take any photographs of the CARS??? I know there were lots of the tractor but .... this is an Eos forum so I guess no-one would be interested in tractors. (Though I have to say everyone seemed to have fun driving it!!):) :D

I hope they come in Automatic!!
