We have owned our EOS 2 years now and today I almost pulled over in the path of a car in the lane next to me. I did that quick turn of the head and noticed a car was in my blind spot and did not change lanes. The accident would have been my fault. Every car has one or two of these blind spots where you can not see the car beside you in your left or right mirror.

I have started using the advise I read in a safety article about blind spots. You have three mirrors on your car. Left, Right, and the one in the middle above your windshield. You only need the middle mirror to view the car behind you so adjust your side mirrors out a little to view the line in the road and lane next to you. It takes a little time getting use to the change but you will be able to see that car in your blind spot on the left or right. The car behind you can be viewed in the middle mirror. Continue the left or right look when changing lanes.

Any comments? Does it work for you?

I know what you mean...I did the same thing about 3 months after buying my Eos. I've discovered that there really are no blind spots with the top down and thus try to drive this way most :) Seriously, taking a few minutes to adjust the mirrors makes a HUGE difference; and with the top up I usually double and triple check my rear sides before changing lanes.

I try to align my both of my outside mirrors, so they just include both sides of the car.

That gives me some perspective as to where other cars are in relation to me.
