I hear the frame is a jetta, another person tells me its a passat frame...
So what is the real deal on the EOS frame?

Both!
Front pan uses the the Golf platform (like the Jetta).
Rear is Passat.

As a bonus with the Passat rear end, we got its fully independent rear suspension. Probably handles a little better over bumps than the Jetta's semi-independent rear.

Driving a 2009 Passat 2.0T for the past week while my Eos is having some little picky things adjusted. Always seems to take longer than I think it should. I've put over 300 miles on that Passat. I have to say I do quite like it. I don't like the "tiny sunroof" compared to the Eos top, but my 6 year old thinks it is a limosine with all that rear leg room.

OH drives a company-car Passat for 3 years now (first was 2.0TDI, and now for a year the 1.9TDI BlueMotion): probably one of the best quality+perfomance / price ratio on the market: space, decent limousine look, very low consumption (who needs a Prius at sub 4l/100km?), and quite punchy...
Given the length of the EOS, I had thought it was fully based on a Passat chassis.. Thanks for having corrected my assumption.
