I have the basic radio/CD player in my Eos. It is supposed to play MP3's, it says so right on the player!! Mine won't play burnt CD's!!
I have burned 4 CD's with MP3 files from my computer using Roxio and I also used Windows Media Player. The player will say "wait please" for about 90 seconds and then it ejects the CD and says "CD ERR". Anyone else having this problem? Any suggested fix?

Most in-car players have trouble with multi-session discs. There are three options that you should look for in your software:
1) "no multisession" should be enabled,
2) "Finalize CD" should be enabled, and
3) "Disc-at-once" should be selected as the write method.
Basically, this takes your files and burns them in a single action. At the end, the disc is closed off so that the burner can no longer "see" the disc as a burnable one. By using these functions, you are creating a disc that is as close to a "store bought" one as you can get.
If you still have problems, it may be related to the color of the writable media you are using. (many of the older burnable discs are a darker color than the silver pressed ones) You can now find better quality discs that have a similar coloring to manufactured discs. As a last resort, try and use a different color media. I've tried to simplify the issue here by using "color" but really, it is all based on the reflectiveness of the surface and how it interacts with the laser in the player... that, however, is a discussion for another thread.
Hope this helps.

I took the CD's I burnt into the dealer and had them try them in a car in the showroom. They worked fine. Its a problem with my player, so my car goes in Monday morning. They may have to replace the whole unit.

Well, at least it looks like you have a solution pending! Hope it gets rectified quickly.
