Here we go,

A first impression of what happened on Saturday along the coast of Victoria. The focus is, of course, on the cars but there's a little bit of nature as well:

I provided a link to an external website rather than posting images here to keep the bandwidth usage low.

Enjoy, and of course comments are most welcome.

Regards,
Michael

P.S.: Looking forward to the alternative views provided by the other participants!

Nice work Michael. Any photos with 2 or more Eos'es is a impressive sight

Oh Nice pic's Michael. Particularly like the last photo and fantastic the way you were able to cling on to that tree at the same time as taking it, to get such a good angle.
Seriously, they are nice pics and don't the three colours look good together.

Hi Michael,

You've put that beast of a camera of yours to good use - you clearly have an artists eye.

Hope the drive back through the hinterland was pleasant, and you got a chance to open her up a bit.

Lin and I didn't get home 'til last night, so I hope to get my photos posted tonight - they won't be as good as yours, but I may have a few different angles.

Cheers,

Geoff.

PS - a big thanks to Fred for making the trip also - he was hard pressed for time, but didn't want to miss out.

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not that happy with the pix, the post-processing in iPhoto seems to introduce a quality to the photos that makes them a little bit "off" - hard to explain. I'll re-do them in a different software package and post the better ones.

Looking forward to your shots, and Fred's, for that matter. It's always good to get a different perspective.

Yes, we had a safe trip back, and "fun" on the way - the roads are flowing so nicely going that way!

Seeya,
Michael

P.S.: There's a little write-up in the original poll thread as well.

P.P.S.: Sorry, Lin, for the incorrect spelling.

Geoff
Unfortunately it is unlikely that will be able to get my photo's up before I go away as I am still stuck in the office and likely to behere a while in order that I can catch my flight later this week

Congratulations on organising the event even though the numbers were significantly down. It is the other people who did not or could not make it loss and hopefully Silvershadow has been able to sort out his issues and get down to the next one as I am also keen to meet him in person

Michael
Well done on these photo's
The cars actually look cleaner in the photo's despit the rain and road grime
Did you edit this out or just good photography skills?

Look forward to the next catch up

Hi all,

I am still trying to do the right thing and remove rego plates from the photos and organise a photobucket account (and learn how to use it).

In the mean time, thanks to Michael and Fred, for getting out and putting monikers to faces.

Its easy for us all to sit around late at night over a port ( am I giving something away here) and type stuff, but I really appreaciated these guys getting out there and showing the old Eos spirit.

I know that timing was bad for some, and it potentially was a hell of a long drive (my good lady wife often tells me - I don't know when to stop) and it was pretty ambitious for a first up meeting, but hey, I wanted to meet other people with clearly superior taste in cars (and all the other good things in life), and have a damn good drive along the way.

Cheers,

Geoff

We loved the pics with the koala and my wife liked the light house (yes the cars were great too). Where is this light house located?

Hi Andy,

Of course the focus was on the cars, and I did not really get too much in way of the Great Ocean Road into the shots - we had a couple of opportunities with beautiful surf in the background that we didn't take.

Anyway, the light house is in Aireys Inlet. There are quite a few along the coast but this is the easiest one to get shots with a car :) .

I have tons of shots of the coast from other trips, might go through them and put them up for you if you're interested.

As mentioned previously, I've written a short blog in the original "poll" thread. Might be worth reading in connection with the photos.

Regards,
Michael

The feeling about getting to know each other is mutual - unfortunately my issues will probably take another year to be finally settled thanks to the current backlog in our Family Court  . I am just an ordinary aussie bloke with country rather than city values who has been fortunate to have had an interesting and varied life.

Wouldn't it be great if CIB and Skidoo could make their travel arrangements coincide and we could show them our parts of the world while they are here :) .

That would be great silvershadow. My wife lived in both Melbourne and Sydney in the mid 70's and we came back last year to visit her old mates in both area's. Did the GOR (which she had done a few times when she lived there) in a coach which was good but not the same as doing it in an EOS!
CIB is out there next year I believe, but we won't be back for a couple of years, too many other trips planned before then.

I was already excited about our Australia trip, but now the excitement mounts! Maybe could have another Eos meet (without the Eos in our case but ..) while we're there! We're starting in Esperance to see friends, then hiring a car see as much as we can in a month (I know - not nearly long enough).
What a car - not only as a beautiful car but as a gatherer of friends.

Ok,

I've finally finished pixilating the number plates and I think I have figured out this external photo hosting thing.

With any luck, if you click on this link, you will find my photos.

You will note that by the time we got to the lookout above Apollo Bay, Michael and I have gone all arty in our posing of the Eos'.

Photos definitely there, Geoff, and much appreciated.

Yes, we did get a little artsy-.artsy after lunch but hey, we're only kids with our favourite toys:).

Well done, always good to see things through a different lens.

Regards,
Michael

P.S.: There's a couple of pix with plates in there, but so is my mug so that's fine.

Hi Michael,

Sorry about the ones with the plates - I have now removed them.

We all feel your pain, David,

But try to look at the bright side: When you join next time the weather will be much better, there will likely be a few more, and you and I will stand out from the crowd - OK, the cars, that is :D .

Truly sorry you couldn't make it. If Fred and Geoff (and wives) are any indication this board is populated by amazing people, and I'm sure you're no exception, and it would have been great to meet in person.

As already expressed in another thread, I hope things take a turn for the better for you.

Regards,
Michael

P.S.: Geoff, I wasn't overly concerned about the regos ... .

Fantastic pic's geoffa1, brought back so many great memories for us both. Love the photo set up and the ability to see the photo's as a slide show.
Fantastic, bet CIB will really be excited about her next year's trip when she see's that lot.

Wow. Great pictures. We'll definitely have to try and rent an Eos when we're there.
