Ours is in having the roof seals done.

Luckily the roof started to leak 2 weeks before the warranty was out. We found water on the passenger seat which we found out whilst driving in the rain, was coming in the joint by the A pillar. Chap said it was easily fixed by a modification to the top roof seal. I also pointed out a small leak at the rear quater light which sometimes dribbles into the boot and he has a new seal for that too. I must say I was very impressed with him and the whole service team (so far) they have been very helpful.

We had a new Beetle about 7 years ago and the service we got from the previous fanchise was awful.

She's in with Heritage in Bristol and so far so very good. The mechanic came out and talked me through what was going to be done. Only problem is it's going to take about 3 weeks so they have lent us a Passat (v nice) which has now been replaced by a Touran (v boxy, v practical). But I'm happy about this as we are relocating to Exeter and it's thrashing down.

The CR engine in the Passat is very quiet, but the PD engine in the Touran is much more deiselish sounding than the one in our Eos which is quite and throaty.

Mine went in with Heritage (Bristol) too about a year ago. Although they kept the car a bit longer than originally stated, they were incredibly thorough and phoned me regularily with updates.

Dry as a bone since too!

Not to put a downers on your situation, but mine went in for something routine (at Heritage, Bristol) and they told me there was a leak.

Many weeks and various different sets of seals later, the car still was not water tight!

Whilst the pooling of water in the side compartments and damp carpet had now stopped water still drips in over the side windows in places!

I thing you will just have to live with it if it does as to be fair to the Dealerships they are just working with what they are given.

The roof's design is still the best out there (in terms is how little it eats into the boot space, and the fact it has a sunroof), but the sacrifice is a 5 piece design with extra joins that are susceptible to water ingress.

By all accounts a ford focus is really bad for leaks and only has a 2 piece roof.

You must have joined the site after my last little incident then! :p

I "lost" my Eos for weeks eating into valuable EDA's due to wet carpet, parts being "made" in Germany and taking forever to get to England. I have already had one major leak "fixed" twice and now I'm not happy as it appears to be third and final time lucky hopefully or else I'm going to a solicitors and getting my money back me thinks!

p.s. nice comments re candy white spray and sat nav ;)

I had a Focus CC3 which leaked a LOT more than my Eos! ;)

My only leaks are intermittent above the rear side window on the passenger side... I guess that depends on how windy it is... It's not always the roof seals to blame...

And months later and still no leaks.

Although the new Touran they gave us leaked like a sieve, totally drenched inside I sponged about 3 pints out of the drivers footwell before giving up.
