hi... just got a EOS and was wondering when do we usually go topless in Jersey? without looking silly?

I was visiting a customer three weeks ago on Nov 10th and had the top down, but I think that's rare. I used to live in Ridgewood, and it seemed like we had one week every year when warmth came early in March or April. I would take advantage of any 60+ F day.

rrvj4 - one can never look silly topless in an EOS (roof down not clothing wise), whatever the weather apart from rain! In which case then one looks a total prat !!

Happy safe driving.

ALTHOUGH I LOVE THE EOS.. i am sad that i received it on the day of our first snow fall.. if it would have come the weekend prior... we had a LOVELY day... here in Jersey for December and i would have driven it topless... here is hoping to nice weather !

Glad to see you bought the EOS and not the Beetle. EOSes look much more stylish when driven by attractive women. Beetle drop-tops are for HS chix and 55 YO divorced grandmas.

was away for the weekend.. (NYC) and the Jets game. Needless to say... hid my EOS in the garage to keep her away from that snow storm. we only got 11 inches here....

i used by Honda Pilot 4 wheel drive and the trains n subways...

Funny thing is that i had to drive to my sister's house from the train station in north eastern Jersey RIGHT in the middle of the worst part of the snow storm.. the turnpike was bad as hell. THANK GOD for 4 wheel drive!

My baby is still in the garage...

"Decent" to you, me, and the Jersey-ites is still probably "Bundle-up it is freezing" weather to the Floridians right now. It has been a cold week in Florida (for them) but compared to what we've been having I'd take a 55-60 degree day right now easily and put the top down!

I've advised my friends to never buy a convertible in late fall, like I did . . . it's too maddening :)

But I did get to go topless for a drive from DC to Baltimore yesterday, with the temp around 55 degrees. Windscreen and windows up, and heat on, but it was a good fix for now.

Hope you feel better soon.

SOOO TEMPTED this afternoon for lunch.. out and about for a training.. reached 50 degrees. I opened the moon roof... I was warm in the car! FOR A SPLIT SECOND... i had this extreme URGE to open this badboy up... sighhhhh! i didn't... :(

When will it be the right time? This is maddening.... i don't know if I could handle this type of stress!

I say just go for it, if only for a little while, to get you by until warmer weather. Don't worry about what other people will think - they're all jealous.

In downtown DC tonight, I saw a Sebring with the top down, even though it was only about 40 degrees. A little crazy? Maybe . . . but the way I look at it, it's still a lot more comfortable than my bicycle commute in the same kind of weather.

nope no major stops planned.. really stopping in Kissimmii then Miami!... key west as well... i got a cruise to catch! on the way up i'm still deciding .. I love savanah, GA and i like to stop at Camp Lejuene, NC (Marine corps base) as I have lots of friends there!...

AND i am getting sick and tired of this cold weather.. It feels like its been going on for ever. probably because I received this car in the dead of winter and really haven't enjoyed driving aroudn topless...

so did you have any stops? on your way down to Key West???

Hi, are you ready for the next snow storm? We left the Bronx at about 11pm, got into Baltimore about 3 am, stopped, rested for a few and hit the road again. We actually made it from exit 3 on the NJ turn pike all the way to the first exit in NC and still had gas. We needed coffee! We stopped at South of the Border SC for friend chiken and gas. Our first real stop was Savannah, GA. What a beautiful city. We spent 2 nights in the Hyat then onto Key West! Amazing trip, I can't wait to do it again! We took I 95 south, then I 75 North back home, through TN, VA, W VA etc..... It was quite scenic.

Surely it's top down as soon as you can. Last weekend we went out for the hell of it, 5 C on the outside temp gauge and brilliant sun so top down and heater on full, everything was fine (if a little chilly) cruising at 65 to 70 and a bit more ;) on a dual carriageway, only thing missing was the draft stop which I have forgotted to install :) :D :)

Been driving topless for over a month straight.. Well had great weather in NJ.. then I left for MIAMI! spent all my time in my badboy... OF COURSE driving into NJ yesterday.. I BROUGHT IN A COLD spell. COLD AS HELL FROZEN OVER!

IN this cold, I needed to wash my badboy off.. many bugs lost their lives on the grille!...

What's the best polish to use? that will bring out a good shine?

last weekend I spent 4-5 hours on my baby. Washed, clay bar, wax. Need to do more to the engine bay, just did a little bit of detailing there. Threw a pic up in the forum and going to be adding more as I go through them. Luckily I have covered parking so I am not fully affected by the pollen.

I used to use ICE, the wax is good I don't think their liquid clay really works. I don't see how a liquid clay can pull the same type of impurities out like regular.

Mequiars Wash, Mother's Clay and Showtime Polish, NXT Wax, Invisible Glass, Rain-X, Meguiars Wheel Cleaner and Tire Foam

SilverSurferEos
04-11-2010, 06:27 PM
GT....Is that NXT a good carnuba wax??? I totally agree with the liquid clay....it's not as good as a clay bar at all...gotta really work it.

the only thing is the NXT 2.0 is a liquid wax, not a paste carnuba

I'm going to try Maguire's Gold Carnuba, and see how that goes over the Ice.....I was reading some online reviews, and that seems like a good combination. I'll let you know how I make out, although it looks like we're getting a bit of rain this weekend in NY so I may have to wait until next weekend to clean her up :(
