Ok, I love cars and driving and such, but not too familiar with actually working on them. How crazy, and expensive, of an idea is it to swap out the DSG for a 6-Speed? I know thats pretty out there, but, anyone care to throw a guess out there as far as price?

It would be less expensive to trade your current DSG for a brand new manual Eos.

Apart from the cost of removing and replacing the transmissions, fitting a clutch pedal, gearshift and related connections; you would have to replace or reprogramme the vehicle's electronic management system.

Lol, yeah, thousands and thousands is for sure. What about a DSG reprogram? Would that solve the torque cut at 250 that iv been hearing about? And does anyone know why the crap mine wont do launch mode?
As for it being a great gearbox, thats true, but not for guys like me who are looking to mod the engine, the DSG is an amazing trans when used on stock power the way it was designed, but, wont hold up to well when i dump 400lbs of torque into it, lol

Your best path might be to try to do a straight up trade with someone who has a manual gearbox Eos. Your Eos with DSG had a sticker about $2K US more than the ones with the manual gear box.

I agree with the other posters - it would be very difficult to swap the DSG to the manual transmission, there are 100s of parts that would have to be swapped along with it including some very expensive ones like the the Engine Control Module.

2 issues with that though, 1 being that my car is financed and i dunno how easy it would be to trade it with the financing and such, and 2, no one would wanna trade because my car has high miles. apparently the first owner liked to drive... A LOT, as do I, so, im about to tip 50,000 already, lol
