i'd be at that dealership and sitting with the manager in front of a computer and lookin at whats out there. i know here in the US dealers can go on line and see what each other has and make swaps if needed. there must be a way they can tell you if there is one close to what you want (maybe with more extras thrown in) it may not be your color, but hey if it's got everything else ( and hopefully more) you'd grow to love it. but be persistant.... this is a big boo boo and they need to find you one. even if it's the next one of the assembly line...... go get em....we'll be rootin for you:)

I have had to wait 9 long months for mine and its been worth the wait, I feel really sorry for you but I,d wait that extra 3 months for another one as its worth it, if its not quite warm enough for my total top down, I have the sun roof part put back and the built in wind deflector up. That still gives you that top down feeling ! The car is also amazing to drive I love it.
Regards a very happy EOS owner.

hi all thanks for the good wishes..well went in today and supposedly vw themselves at the factory are dealing with it and are going to let me know next week sometime how quickly they can build me another car...told it will be a lot less than 3 months as its a special case but cant help thinking it will still not be quick...havnt seen the car yet as its at northallerton bodyshop but going on wed to see it and take some photos..according to the salesman the bodyshop manager says it is fixable..i said what about fixing it and selling it to me with £10k off!! he said that they could come up with a discounted figure for the repaired car but would i want a damage repaired car? dont know but i really want this car in this spec..looked on vw dealers websites..a few 07 delivery miles about but none my colour or with xenons..i just dont know what to do but will wait and see how quickly they say they can get me a new car or what other deals are available...i will let you all know what happens....well thanks again and i hope all your cars are ok!!! cheers mark..p.s. the suns just come out here..

What a shame, feel for you! If the car did fall off the transporter, or something like that, I wouldn't touch it if I were you. The roof is a complicated bit of kit, to say the least, and who knows what damage has been caused that you can't see. Would the dealer do a loaner? Or VW? Long shot I know, but nothing to lose!

Hold on in there, don't rush into anything till the dealer has exhausted all the options. If it only means a short waiting time of 1 month or so (I would push for that). You need an Eos not some other poor alternative. Best of luck

Having waited 4months for mione, several false starts but now being delivered to my home on Tuesday morning I know how gutted you must feel!! The weather has been soooo great that it must be tempting to just 'do something fast'!! But as John alludes, that might create more problems for you in future! You must have a lot of people on your side in VW, so ride the wave, be assertive, and let them sort it out for you. And DON'T get sidetracked by 'I want it now so I'll buy something else' thoughts!!! If you wanted it THAT bad [like all of us] its WORTH waiting for and as someone once said .. "......................repent at your leisure"!!

Best wishes

Sorry to hear about this, however, I suggest you wait for VW to get back to you on the "special case" delivery. It only takes a day to slap all the parts together, and a few for shipping... I'll bet they could have a totally new car to you in under a month. probably under a couple weeks.

Wait to see what they offer. You may even get something cool for being calm. :)

Let us know what they offer you. I'm curious.

This is awful and I know a little of how you are feeling... When my TT came back from its 7 weeks in Germany, where it had ESP retro fitted, they dropped the car off of the transporter and smashed up the front end.

Thing is, I never found out until later, once I put the car up for sale and I had been driving it for months.

If you do decide to let them fix the car, my advice to you would be to keep an eye on them at every stage just in case and also get the car independently inspected before accepting it.

I would not want this car, as a convertible it will not stand any twist in the frame. There may also be corrosion issues with the repair and reduced value when you come to sell it. Wait for VW to say what they are going to do - after all they only have to bump everyone else one car down the queue to build another for you tomorrow.

BTW still not seen another golden eos! Must remember to ensure that the transporter drivers keep it that way ;-)

OUCH!!!! My suggestion..... I wouldn't accept the repaired one, you'll always know & you'll always wish..., firstly obviously find out how soon they can deliver another. Secondly, ring every other dealer YOURSELF on your continent.

Just a tip, dont rely on the dealer to find one for you cause they don't want to lose the sale. Some dealers do stock transfers but Down Under very rare as EOS is hugely high in demand (not surprising...)so dealers won't let go of stock. I had a situation where a dealer in Sydney took my order but couldnt guarantee supply so the contract was subject to my conditions of sourcing one elsewhere, even though they advised there were NONE available.....Firstly I rang VW head office Australia & they wouldnt help find me one BUT it was their suggestion to ring other dealers myself. SO.....I spent several hours on the phone & low & behold I firstly found one in Victoria (1000km away) & then found 2 in my own city. I was prepared to change my specs too, but got exactly what I wanted!! By the way, I even rang some dealers twice and that was actually how I found it, second time around...... My original dealer said there were NONE AVAILABLE on the continent???? So, sorry to any dealers out there, but don't beleive everything your dealer tells you because remember they are after the sale as they are running a business after all...Just do your own research so you are well informed & so you know..... Personally I was even prepared to change color but in the end didnt need to.
Was it worth it? YOU BET. I can't begin to describe just how "worth it" the EOS is. Hope you resolve asap.. BTW, where are you?

hi again all..got the pics of the car at last...not as bad as i thought but bad enough..latest is now they cant get an eos as quick..more like 3 months and thats what they said 6 months ago..think they are trying to push me to getting the fixed one..said i would want a £10k discount to accept a damaged repaired car and waiting for them to come back..after seeing it tho i really want it!!! ideally i think they should order me a new car at the same price and fix this one and loan it to me until the new one arrives(hopefully undamaged this time!!) salesman says they are claiming against the shipping company for the damage...i'll let you know what happens but i just want a car now after waiting 6 months..only consolation is its rained all week here so it would have just been in the garage under a cover all week!!..btw im in north east england dolcevita..thanks for the advice have scoured the vw dealers cars on their website and a few brand new deliveys miles available but none my colour or near my spec..

OUch again. The carrot is dangling I know....BUT I like your option of having the repaired one as a loan car until the replacement arrives. Thats totally fair   oh...and some compensation too of course for the heartache!!!

Walk away; that floor panel is damaged beyond repair. To do that much damage it must have been a really big bang. :(

I agree .... when all is said and done, you want to be 100% happy with your EOS, and with the salvaging needed on that vehicle, that just may never be. I wouldn't even want it as a loaner ... think they owe you a quality VW product as a loaner until your car is available.

Fully agree. Repaired cars are never quite the same as original ones however well it's done and with such a complicated back-end on Eoses wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole.

hi all again..thanks for the thoughts and advice..been on the phone today..vw engineer has inspected the car and they are waiting for his verdict..told them again that i wanted a new one ordering and this one repaired and loaned until the new one arrives..said i would not accept the fixed one even with a discount..this car has all my options and colour i want so wouldnt mind loaning it until new one arrives..they are going to tell me if this is possible so when i find out i'll let you all know...only consolation is that it has rained at some point every day since i would have got the car so it would have just been in the garage anyway.. ..cheers mark.

Thanks for the update .. you have done the right thing. Now, if VW are reasonable about the whole thing, they should come through with your new car in a shorter time frame. If time frame seems unreasonable, you can pont you that yuo have been MORE than fair and patient under the circumstances. Good luck!

Dig your heels in GoldenEos, they owe you at least that & MORE!!! The engineer's verdict is irrelevant, the point is that you purchased a brand new undamaged EOS . It sounds like they're buying time / excuses? Is the engineer going to try to convince yu to take the damaged one? Don't think so. Dig your heels in, accept nothing less..

crap, wait for a new one.. who cares how long it takes.... the delay will seem inconsequential compared to the pain you would experience down the road for having bought, essentialy, a used car that was in a collision. Xhanxes are they would have to sell you the car damaged car without a warrenty. A buddy of mine picked up a T-bird that was damaged by a hail storm while it was new a tthe dealership. they couldn't sell it as new with a warranty so they sold it AS IS without a warrenty. he figures that the hail couldn;t of affected anything that was mechanical. that was easy....

...So should this be: don't take the busted EOS!!! Its their problem...

hi again all heres the latest installment.!!! well dealer contacted me said engineers report says car cant be sold as new..no surprise there and then said they could not fix it and loan me it while waiting for a new one and they were only prepared to offer 4% off the damaged one when repaired!!!! thats a measly £1000 !!! told them that was no good and wanted to take it further so i have now lodged a complaint with vw uk customer service dept. telling them the story plus things like i spent £1000 on a private plate, car cover and ipod and also ive had 2 holidays booked to the lakes expecting to tour with the car and havnt had it. told them i wanted either the 1st eos fixing and loaning until a new undamaged one arrives(as its my colour and spec) or a new eos with a decent spec loaning whilst im waiting for the new one..which incidently im told will be a minimum of 4 months!!! and also i want 4% discount off the new one for all my troubles and disappointment..vw's motto is "customers for life".told them i buy a new car every year or two at most so they could be losing out on thousands so lets see if they live up to this!!! salesman was quite hopeful i would get a loan eos but after the first offer must say im not optimistic!!! i'll let you know the outcome..expecting some word next week.. cheers mark...

Best of luck with whatever car you end up getting, I'm sure it won't be as bad as the Eos ownership has been for you.

that totally sucks mate, i cant believe that's all they can do for you,if I was that salesperson or that dealer i would be giving you whatever the top of line unit is in the showroom as your loaner, then i would find you a new unit with the same specs plus plus, asap. dont care if we would have to get it from a different country. and to keep you as a new vw owner,,I would take out all commissions and profits, but thats only if i was that dealer.
