Just back from having genuine VW cruise control retro-fitted to my '10 SE TDI by Andrew of Hazzy Dayz in Hemel Hempstead - http://www.vwcruise.com/ (http://www.vwcruise.com/).

After the installation - about 20 minutes - a quick test drive proved that everything was in order, the green cruise warning light on the dash came on, the selected speed display on the MFD was present and correct and all the functions worked as advertised. While they had the VAG-COM connected I asked them to enable the little chirp when the alarm sets. :o

Considering the £295 VW charge to have it as a factory fit option, the £150 that Hazzy Dayz charge is a bargain. :)

All I can say is what an excellent job they do and I'd highly recommend them for retro-fitting any VW accessories. :D

As I've mentioned elsewhere I've had one fitted too. But it has been a bit problematic and has in fact had to be replaced under warranty. It started to disconnect when I braked, which meant you couldn't just push the button to reset it but had to reset the speed again. Very annoying. It's not been too bad since, but occasionally if you accelerate above its speed to get past something then lift off you find it just goes on slowing down and has disconnected itself again.. So it doesn't seem to work as reliably as the factory-fit one, although have no idea how or why that could be the case as there shouldn't be any difference.
