I have searched the manual and cannot find out what OEM spark plug is called for. Would also like to know of if there is an upgrade plug. I have tied to remove the engine cover and I know I have to disconnect a couple of items, but the cover is not coming off and I am afraid to pull too hard and break it. Is there some advice on how/where to pull the cover off so I can get to the spark plugs?
Thank
Steve

bring it to a dealer trained Volkswagen tech who has spent some time with the new 2.0 or 3.6 engines, OEM factory parts are the best I have found. for the BPY 2.0turbo the OEM spark plugs are Bosch & for the 3.6 the OEM plugs are NGK.

Thanks, but too late. I called my dealer (90 miles away), they couldn't tell be what plugs were recommended. I went to Carquest, a parts store, and they looked it up. Several plugs are stated as OEM, but I got the Denso Iridium (LK16#4, 5303#4) because I was told they are a hotter plug and that is what a turbo needs. The plugs I pulled were Bosch VW, that is all it said on the plug, they were also Iridium. So far the car runs great. Steve

That's sad the VW dealer wouldn't help you out, at least with the VW P/N. I checked eBahn and it gives some long VW P/N, but it's going to be cheaper buying an aftermarket alternate instead of paying extra for the VW box.
When we eventually get to spark plug time, I'll probably go with the Denso Iridiums myself.
BTW, for folks' future reference the torque value is 25NM.
