Out of curiosity I popped into our local Ford supplier to have a look at the physical Focus CC, there were none there. I asked a salesman about them and was told that they are no longer for sale here as they have had major problems with leaks from the roof.:D :D :D

The complex roof of the Eos could be expected to be worse but just goes to show how good the design and engineering is. :)

I had been waiting since March for my Focus CC and was forwarded an email from the dealer that they received from Ford. They had big problems with the roof, had 'halted' production and could give no indication whatsoever as to how long it would go on for. My car was already in 'build' but no new vehicles were allowed to leave the factory.

I promptly cancelled and went straight out and bought a 6 month old EOS. Quite possibly the best decision I've made in a long time. Happy days :D

Wow, thats unfortunate. I'm sorry to hear that ford is having these problems compounding their already dire situation. I swear, the thing with Ford is that they do stuff so half assed... when you are lucky its only in aesthetics.. but when its in fuction you can run into problems.

i actually saw one at a garage i dont know wether it was for sale or if it was staffs it was parked by their showroom door but not inside i took a look inside it looked quite nice but i think a big big plus for the eos is the sunroof as far as i know no other cc has a sunroof too or am i wrong ?

Yep, It's still unique in having the sun roof. Another desirable design feature with the roof is that the windscreen does not also become part of the roof, coming over your head. This makes it look so much better and stops you from hitting your head when getting into the car. This must be a big plus for those of us who are very tall.

Will have to go into Lichfield - they have a Focus CC that has been stood outside for a week and with the rain we have had here it could have three inches of water in it if it doesn't seal.

I do not believe the EOS roof is complex - the main structure is in one piece unlike the folding roofs most of the others have so it should be more reliable, stiffer and less leak prone. It is the finish/trim panels that make it look complex.

Saw one parked in the Humber Brdige car park (5 mins walk from where I live) and had a good look round it.

It was 07 registered so some have obviously been sold.

Quality looked OK and from some angles it didn't look too bad. That rear-end really is big though, and by all accounts there is very little leg-room in the back.

Seems they have sacrificed a lot on the altar of Boot (Trunk) Space!

Looks like the Focus CC is back in production I saw one today at the dealer. I spent some time looking at it (roof down) and all I can say is its not as well appointed as the Eos and it's an ugly bu**er up close.:)

The dealer asked if they could invite me back to negotiate a new deal when the car I ordered finally turns up, even though I cancelled. It was in build when they pulled the plug so should be in the next batch that hits the UK.

I may play along and turn up to take it for a drive anyway. I'll take it for a quick spin, say "naaah" and make sure they see me pulling out of their car park in the EOS.

Even better would be to go for the test drive in the rain and put the top down, but then perhaps you might not need too knowing there leakiness.
Then drive off in the Eos with top up.

Lets know if you do it.

Cheers

Cruel! What if, some day, Ford comes out with something you just "gotta have"? Poor guys at Ford have had a lot of bad luck ..... would like to see them make some kind of comeback!

Cheers!

I do feel sorry for Ford as they really have produced some terrific cars down the years, and have long supported motor sport. Their contribution has been immeasurable.

Graham, my EOS has been leaking for the past six months. It has a complete new roof section fitted and was in the dealership for nine weeks. It now leaks in the boot area!!!!!

Sorry to hear that. I must say that yours must be one of the exceptions since I'm sure we would have heard more about this here.

It sounds like you would have a case for rejecting the car and asking for a replacement. I take it you have requested same?

Best of luck with your problem.

Have you applied the kytox lubricant to the seals yet?
