I've never heard of a tire and wheel protection plan. At around 17,000 I hit a curb that put a small tear in the sidewall, resulting in the need to replace it. Since I hear that if one tire is going to be replaced, it's a good idea to replace all which I did for around $150 US per tire. IF I hadn't had this problem, my factory tires probably would have taken me to at least 30K.

I also purchased the Wheel and Tire protection plan and fortunately, have not had to use it yet.
