Hi Folks
Bought a second-hand Eos (FST)and I'm now getting a persistant and irritating squeak which appears to be coming from around the sunroof area. Disappears when I open the sunroof slightly. Happens when travelling over any mildly rough ground.
Love the car incidentally!
Would appreciate some guidance on resolving the squeak. I've looked over the forum and others have had the squeak problem but focused on the rear section aluminium frame. Mine's definately overhead!
Cheers all!
Is it squeaking or creaking?
I have a creaking sunroof and like you it happens if the road is not perfectly smooth. Any undulation will cause it to creak. As far as I can work out it comes from the front corner on the passenger side. Again like you the noise goes if the sunroof is up.
The car has been into the dealer twice so far. The first time they said it would take an hour or so, I think they thought it needed a touch of Krytox, but I'd already done that. When they couldn't fix it they asked me to leave it with them for a day.
Second time around they have diagnosed a faulty or broken piece of trim. As this part is on back order it goes back in on 4th Jan 2012 to be fitted. After that hopefully it will be fixed. The dealer has been brilliant and helpful and all being done under the warranty.
Mine is a March 2010 Eos.
I've had it a couple of months now and still love it. It's the best car I've ever had so roll on summer when I can use it properly.

In spite of what Eoss said, my first guess would still be that a little Krytox will stop the pressure squeak.

amazing what keeping all the seals lubed will do... :-)

It does have to be the easiest option to start with and you are in control.

Thanks folks, I'll have a go with the Krytox firsy and see how it goes.
My gut tells me the problem is caused by surfaces rubbing together. Its that sort of sound.
Cheers again.

We had a similar issue but with the sunroof tilted open and the rattle was above the driver.
Robinsons in Norwich were brilliant. They initially thought it was a plastic runner, changed them out, but the issue persisted.
They changed all the mechanism I believe, which was probably over the top, but it did the trick.
I will try and find out which bit actually caused the problem though.
