: Have you seen this?
samdiamond 06-28-2007, 10:55 AM A brillant video of the Eos going head to head with the Ford Focus CC at Brands Hatch:

jamcar 06-28-2007, 11:48 AM great link thanks for posting. thought the eos looked really stunning next to the somewhat frumpy looking ford. but hey i admit to being totally biased. can my eos ever live up to the expectations i have for her in my head now? just really hope that i am not going to be disappointed as have set the bar to high. 9 weeks and counting
Gavster 06-28-2007, 09:29 PM Another great link - thank you
Fliernoel 06-28-2007, 09:42 PM Many thanks for that, I wouldn't have found it otherwise. Interesting, and I'm glad the Eos came out so handsomely on top, but I thought the whole thing was very grudging and rather half-baked. Many will be left with the impression that there is room only for a pair of gloves and a tin of sandwiches in the boot of the Eos with the top down. I think the storage is fine - they should take a look at the Merc SLK if they want to criticise that much!
Thanks
Noel
schoolhousefred 06-28-2007, 11:42 PM The only thing I really enjoyed about the comparison was the conclusion that the EOS was substantially better than the Ford, but then that is obvious. Infact, the whole thing lacked precision and detail in their comparison.
sangus 06-29-2007, 01:04 AM Thanks for the link
Will be the focus a classic car?.......... ;)

My bet is it will be another Edsel!
sangus 06-29-2007, 01:23 AM :D :D :D time will tell
archiea 06-29-2007, 03:02 AM Well for starters: Jeremy clarkson, eat your heart out!! he said the the Focus was structuraly superior to the eos.
Secondly, though, what is wrong with reviewers!?!?! i mean the dude in the focus mentioned that he doesn't see the point with the hard top convertable!?!?! that you should just get a Mazda!?!?!!? What about storage... I mean the Eos or ford are like station wagons compared to a mazda as fars as size. how about the security of the hardtop vs the constant cleaning of the soft top. I should know, i own a hardtop and a soft top!!!
And then to say that the car is just a poser's car!?!?! Why? Because it doesn't drive like sports car!?!?!WTF? I got the eos as a daily driver becuse if I;m going to spend 3 hours out of the day commuting to work, I want to be in an environment that pleases me...like a car with a huge sunroof.. and I get a convertable on top of that... for the price of a mid-priced sedan. not a bad trade off. some sacrifices in space, but hardly impractical. I mean show me a convertable AT ANY price that is equal to its coupe sibling in handling.... seriously...
So all this proves is that people should go out and drive the car for themselves. reviewers are near worthless... if not just plain inacurate as is the case with Clarkson.
archiea 06-29-2007, 03:04 AM just have to say it again: convertable car of the year, and the reviewer says that is pointless, and just a poser's car...
and they comment on the trunk... you can fit two suitcases in the eos with the top down.. Of course its not a station wagaon!!! what is wrong with these people...

Archiea -- maybe you can answer a question about the custom suitcases. Actually, I'm hoping someone has fit a suitcase they already owned in the space provided for the two suitcases, and can tell me the measurements of their standard suitcase. But, you seem to have information on EVERY topic anyone brings up on the two forums I have joined, so, do you know the measurements of the custom suitcases?
My Eos (and my 4th VW vert) is on order -- 2008 paprika/beige Lux, Dynaudio, Nav with 6 CD. 15 more weeks to wait -- I hope I am as pleased with it as you are with yours!!!!
Thanks for your help. Roberta
Interesting - so they would both go home in the EOS!
We made the right decision.
AND - we have had four adults in the car
AND it will take a full size suitcase (but not that easy to get it in or out with the roof down).
Thanks for the link. It made my day (but we knew which was better anyway didn't we!)
Ford focus convertible isn't available in the states and if it was cheaper, I'm sure it would sell like crazy, just not to me.;)
If were are talking domestic, I'm a GM lover all the way. You'll never catch me in a blue oval.
