It seems that more and more new members are just putting a name but no location in their box. Could it be made compulsory to give some indication of location as some answers to questions are territory dependent? I don't think it affects anybody's privacy and quite often the reply begins with "where are you?" anyway.

John

This is one for the administrator who approves all membership applications.

Requiring location and car details would also reduce the number of spammers slipping through as well. They might include false information to get around this but they always get caught - my IP address search soon reveals all including the use of proxy servers to try and hide their location. There is an increasing trend for individuals in India, China and the Phillipines bring paid to join forums and post spam - my recent bans have included a number of users of dial-up connections for this purpose. My major concern is always links posted by new users as these may be to malicious websites. I always check any link I wish to open by searching the website name before opening and if there is no information from the search engine, I will not open that link.

YES!!

I have also requested this in the recent past.

It would certainly eliminate a lot of back and forth questions and answers and get to the point much quicker since the Eos has sooooo many different options and specs., depending on country of origin.

Hi everyone, I'll make the location as a required field in the registration asap. :)

Thank you for the suggestion and feedback!

Cheers,

It is determined by the number of posts you have made since joining thus reflecting your participation - I do not know what the benchmarks are.
