Hi,
I am in the process of fitting a HID conversion kit to my Eos (yes I am aware of the regulations!) but have hit a stumbling block because the kit assumes that there is a spring clip attached to the existing bulb mount but my car does not have this.
What I have is a black plastic holder that houses the spring and the bulb plugs in to this, then this holder twists on to the mount in the light unit. I have attached a couple of photos showing the holder, the bulb in the holder and then the mount in the light unit.
The HID kit manufacturer is claiming that the UK model Eos does not have this, it has a spring clip attached to the mount to hold the bulb in place. Now this is common in other cars I know but I don't understand why VW would have two different bulb mounting methods for a UK car and an AUS car (both RHD).
Can anyone confirm if they have the same mount as me or something different?
Thanks!
Adam
