Hi,
I am new to this formum so please play nicely!!
I have had my 56 reg Eos since August and it's been lovely. Unfortunately because of the potholes in Hertfordshire I now need to get at least 1, possibly 2 new wheels. The dealership has quote £600 each (gulp).
Firstly - what are my options for better priced wheels?
How do I know what size to buy?
Thanks
L

A picture would help greatly because the Eos can be fitted with either 16" 17" or 18" wheels... so firstly you need to check the size on the tyre.
Eg. 235/45/17 I was recently quoted £318 for a replacement "Le Mans" 17" rim.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
First of all , DONT pay dealer prices, you'll only make Germans even richer and enhance their superiority complex!
Second, as mentioned check the size first so you can look on.....
Third, Ebay. You can get a full set of wheels and tyres on there for less than you've been quoted for one and there are some good lookers around too. This includes new items as well as second hand ones. They're the same size as Golfs, Jettas etc so check all options. Check back here if you need advice.
Fourth, if you buy a set of four sell your current wheels and cut your losses!;)
A bit simplistic perhaps but it looks like you'll have to pay out anyway so why not spruce up the looks while you're at it?
Sorry about spending your money but I hope I've helped!:)
Regards,
John

I think that's a Chicago which is 18 inch and pricey from the dealers.
Do you want to keep to those or change to something else? If you want to change you need wheels of 17 or 18 inch, 5 x 112 bolt pattern. Ebay is quite good once you decide how you want to go.

Type "volkswagen eos wheels" in Ebay search engine and you will find that you can easily get a nice looking set of 17 or 18 inch wheels with 5 x 112 bolt pattern for a little over half of what the dealer is charging for 1 replacement Chicago. Many nice looking styles to choose from that can make your EOS unique without going over the top. If your goal is to stick with the current rubber you already have and just remount on new wheels, you'll need to stick with the 18". If you're buying all new rubber then that opens up lots of possibilities and some added expense.

Thanks Gents... who knew that this would be so complicated.
David44 - thanks for the link. Now it says that it is suitable for a Eos 2007 - but mine is a 56 reg... will that make a difference?
Darren - I really couldn't care less about alloys - in fact I probably wouldb't be able to spot the difference between a steel wheel and an alloy!! I just don't understand the fascination with then so am happy to go with something cheap and plain. I think that I want to use the same tyres on at least 2 of the wheels... definitely need new on one and am not sure about the other.

No ... it's the fitting that counts not the year but always check first ;)
