Hi all, I am really struggling to get my signature to show ! I’m sure its something very simple and have filled in the relevant EDIT SIGNITURE section. But it wont show on screen? What am I doing wrong?

All the best
Paul

Edit: to say why dose the signature show on some threads and not all ???? It appears on this thread but not on this one... http://www.vweosclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56 for example?

If you add a signature after you have posted messages I don't think the old messages will have your signature. Also in the control panel you'll have to check the box to always include your signature.

Andrew, Sorry I'm new to this forum game. Is the 'signature' the bit that gives all your EOS details ? If it is, I have added mine and have ticked the 'always add signature' box but still hasent worked on my last post. What am I doing wrong ?

Well Skidoo,
It seemed to work on your last post, so maybe it does not apply retroactively as Andrew suggested? Cheers!

Thanks SHFred. Do you mean the last post saying why isn't it working? If yes, how come I can't see it ?

I have similar gremlins if I view this forum on a Mac (OSX .3.x) using Safari. That's not your problem is it?

G,day SKIDOO.

Hope this works ... I have cut your last post and pasted it as an image so that you can see what it looks like (in IE7).
Not sure if the "I ... /i" at the end of your signature is causing a problem in your browser!
Could also be the "[" and "]" causing an issue.

Regards
Leo

I agree with you 100%, however some web sites designed with MS tools are very particular about the browser and seem to think there is only one, namely IE. Taking advantage of the un documented "features" in the software.

Still may not be the case here with the signature problem.

The No of Add-Ons & Extensions available for FF make IE redundant.

Is the signature copied\pasted from an app such as Word into Porkers\SKIDO's browser window, using a unique font - sometimes the MS font substitution that may be going on between his client to server may be getting screwed up?

Hey either that, or there isnt a problem.

It could be isolated to 1d10t.dll system error GOgg ;)
-I am saying this totally tounge in cheek & laughing to myself as I write that.
I need to get out more often :(

SKIDOO,

can you try using a different internet web browser to see if that is your problem?
You can always download FireFox & give it a try... it wont mess round with your PC & is able to read your favourites\bookmarks too when it starts up.
Perhaps yopu can give it a try?
You can download it from here... http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

If you download it, install it & open this http://www.vweosclub.com site, then test your signature & it works, you know the problem is relative to your internet browser.

Its worth a crack & you will be ok Im sure.

Hey no worries Garry!
I can see your signature though - all is ok it seems.

Sydney fireworks are an absolute treat! Brilliant stuff - I'm sure you will have an excellent time, the weather should be good around then too.
Where ever you go to see them - if its in a public park or the likes, make sure you get there really, really early as the city is totally jam packed full of people.

All the best :)

Hey there SKIDOO,
lemme tell you...that is without doubt the best vantage point to see all the action. The bonus is, is that irrespective of where you are on the harbor, you should get a good view - they strategically position the barges that carry all the fireworks from actual Sydney Harbor, to further up around the Parramatta river - it feeds onto the harbor basically, and they are timed slightly differently.
There are normally 2 major sessions in the night - one at 9.00pm & the other obviously at mid-night.
The earlier one allows families with children to catch all the action, and the later one is the grand daddy of them all.
So, even if you find yourselves jostling about with the other boats on the harbor, you'll get a great night out - its almost guaranteed!
I'm incredibly envious!!

All the best Gary

Cheers David, have also booked to do the Bridge Climb on the 29th, I've done it before but the wife hasent. Doing the twilight climb at 6pm. think its the last climb of the year because of the fireworks. If you hear screeming above the road traffic noise, it will be the wife, she's terrified of heights !!!!!

SKIDOO,
Excellent stuff indeed - I really hope you enjoy it & our city. Its really pretty that time of year & the climate should be nice warm - bring sunscreen!
If youve got time, check out the Cirrcular Quay area - its the Sydney cit side of the harbor - and jump on one of the ferries.
You can take a journey either up the Parramatta river which stops at the varios suburbs & is a great way to see the other side of the harbor for a dirt cheap price too!

And the Manly ferry! Jump on the Manly ferry from Cirrcular quay - it takes about 30 mins to cross the harbor to Manly, but is a sensational way to cruise past the Opera House, then out into the harbor - check the houses and other boats as you cross ...and when you get to Manly, go for lunch or something. Its great! 1 side is a beach...then the other side is...you guessed it... a beach!
We like grabbing some lunch and sitting on the side that the ferry's dock and watching the yachts & scenery from there whilst we sit and have lunch.

Either way, you & your wife should have a blast whilst you are over here.

I should be working for a tourist agency! ;)
