Does anyone know when the Fiat 500 is suppose to start selling in the UK?

wasn't the Fiat 500 launched in the UK on July 4th this year?
I thought sales orders were already being taken for it?

Its scheduled to come down under too - albeit later than everywhere else. Again. For a change :(

It's not launched here yet but there are a few lhd Italian registered examples in the hands of car mags for test.

Think it's out either in October or January - can't remember which but will check.

I didn't think the car was hitting the UK until early 2008. They may have revealed in July but the car isn't on the road yet is my understanding.

It's on the market in January 08.
As mentioned some Italian registered ones are here for journos to test.

I saw one at Auto Italia Stanford Hall last month and it is quite brilliant.

If you are in the market for a natty small car it's great - would be my choice over the Mini.

Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to afford an Eos jamcar! Or indeed wants anything other than a city car!

my comment was not at all price related, I merely looked at the car and expressed an opinion, I view it as nasty, where as you view it as natty. There are again in my opinion a lot lot nicer looking cars within the same price bracket as the fiat 500.
I do not feel that a cars appeal lies within its price tag.

I am a bit biased towards Italian cars - I've had at least 11!

I loved the original Fiat 500 which in context was a brilliant lilttle car for the masses at a time when the world was not really mobile.

The new one is a very clever update of that and I love the way it recreates the cheekiness of the original and has loads of character; I hate most of today's lookalike hatchbacks. It is of course based on the mechanicals of the Panda, which in itself is very accomplished and has sold 1 million in only 4 years. My wife has one and I have driven it loads of times. If the crunch were to come no-one really NEEDS anything other that a Panda or similar; all the rest are to boost our own enjoyment (or egos!); especially mine!

And by the way, although it's on the UK market in January 08 it's sold out "for some months" already.
