All,

I have noticed in my car (and some others) that when the rear screen goes up and the tailgate unlocks it makes a noise as if the hydraulics are lifting it (tailgate) before the catch has 100% released on the UK Drivers Side.... Has anyone noticed that also? I don't think it will do any harm as the catch and the lever for it seem to be very strong!

I am just interested if anyone else has noticed the same behaviour....

Mines a 2007 model.

Looks like no one is listening Simon.:)

How does one get to be a senior member?

And another question if I mak....what is debadging? Which badge did you chuck?

thanks Simon

I am pretty sure mine does the same. So its probably a design feature.

Haven't noticed any unusual sounds when the tailgate opens.

You become a senior member once you've posted 100 times!

De-badging just means peeling off the ones on the bootlid. Don't think there are any more badges apart from the VW roundel on front grille and it would look a bit odd if that one was taken off!

It is a feature by design.... I have looked very closely at the mechanism and for some reason it is correct.... THere is also a slight delay in the C section flaps closing one after the other... UK driver side closes about 1/4 second before the UK passenger side one... This appears to be normal operation...

I took of the badges on the left and right (EOS) and (2.0 FSI)...

yes my little port flap closes about a second after the starboard flap. :)

Thanks Simon. My Black Eos turns up on Monday. Looking forward to ripping the badges off :-)

Black looks great in the Eos. I removed my badges by warming them up with a hair dryer and gently prising them off using the edge of a tea spoon (others have used dental floss). Bit of methylated spirit will remove any residual sticky, followd by a polish.

Agreed... I did it the same way (ish!)
