Hi,
I have a eos with all the fun stuff! I love it!!
I really like the navigation system. I want to buy a gps for my other vehicle, which is older and has none. I get so lost when I drive sometimes, and my hubby says I need it! :) So, does anyone know who makes this navigation system? I have read that Garmin is tops, but have no idea which one to get.

thanks!

my car is sitting in the garage, hopefully our winter won't last too long!

Is it an older EOS? If it is a VW group car with the same large radio size there are plenty of (Chinese) units on Auction sites or look at the more expensive Pioneer units. Most come with satnav and other entertainment goodies like phone hands free, MP3 players etc. You won't find the popular Garmin or TomTom systems in them. Mine is a few years old now and came with iGo which I find O.K and unlike a dealer branded unit, I can get cheap updates for the maps. If your car has controls for the radio on the steering wheel, make sure the unit you buy is compatible with them.

We now have two VAG cars. My older EOS still has the Chinese unit and the newer car has nothing. We bought a portable TomTom for that, but as others said, these days you can use a smartphone with Google maps. However, having to tether a device for power, stick it on the windshield, have a speaker that's loud enough, work a small touch screen and remove it when parked is a pain. Wifey misses the built in fitted unit with the bigger screen.

You definitely need satnav if you drive alone in busy cities you don't know.
