Default Replacing fog light bulbs ?

The owner's manual seems unhelpful in educating us how to replace headlight bulbs or fog light bulbs. I just looked underneath the car and it doesn't look as easy as I'd hoped to replace fog light bulbs. Has anyone done this? Anyone have a link to some schematic on how to approach?

pry out the cover, it looks tight but easily off if u try.

remove the fog light via 3 bolts, and once u have access to it, simple twist out the bulb to change

I saw on a GTI that there is a nice place from which to pry.....I see only a tiny little circle opening on the black part of the cover. What do you use to get in there? How hard do you pull?????

YVR-- THANK YOU!!!! PERFECT!
Do you have similar photos for headlamp and high beam bulb replacement (though I suspect they are inherently easier)???

headlights are a more difficult task, easiest way out is to remove the front bumper and get the headlamps out. else, u can try from the engine bay (ensure the engine is cold, else u gonna have a hard time avoiding the parts from getting burnt)

u need to remove the breather tank on the other side cos it'll obstruct u tho. and use a small mirror to see whats in the connection and avoid 'straining' any other wires

u can use a tool similar to the one that removes the wheel nuts, pull from the hole, initial tightness is there (cos its a virgin - joking kekeke) but it'll come off quite easily

the backing is one piece, the fog lamp surround connects to it.

Main and dipped beam bulb change is pretty easy (depending on your idea of awkward - being an aircraft techie my awkwardness threshold is set pretty high ), just twist off the covers from the back of the headlight units in the engine bay, then twist the relevant holder to release it from the rear of the headlight unit and pull the bulb out the holder. Careful when fitting the new bulbs you don't touch the glass.

its easier for halogen bulbs, more tricky for the xenon ones

I actually replaced the whole assembly and saved $250 based on a quote from the dealer. You can buy the exact OEM part on line for $48. Many thanks for the pdf's. You saved me big time!!!
