Default 215/60R16 fit?

I have a line on some 215/60R16 winter tires on original VW 16x6.5 alloys. I'm currently running 235/40R18 3-season tires. The winter tire combo have a 2.98% larger diameter or 0.76"/19.2mm. So half that for the radial difference. It looks like there will be enough room in the wheel wells, and 3% is within most recommendations.

Does anyone have experience with larger diameter tires on their Eos?

I don't have experience- there is a winter tire mode in settings on mine. I would always check to see if speddo was correct. I have the app Torque- which does a pretty good job.

Just to close off this thread, the 215/60R16's went on yesterday. Clearance of both brake shields and wheel wells seem good. No rubbing so far. Ride is much more pliable with an extra 2" of rubber. This should be a better ride on our rough winter roads.

1texansfan1: winter tire mode does nothing more than warn you if you go over whatever speed you've set. There are no other changes to the driving characteristics of the car when this mode is on. I've yet to see a dedicated winter tire with a low enough max speed limit to even need to set the warning. Perhaps studded tires may have a lower speed rating.
