Default Nuovo EOSista! Felicitā e ansie CSG.. mi date un aiuto? WITH TRANSLATION

Ciao a tutti!

Ora.. come mi devo comportare? Acqua tiepida e panno in microfibra?

Hello everyone!
As the title suggests, I recently became the owner of an EOS in 2008, the only owner, always kept in the garage and kept almost like new.

Unfortunately I have to deal with two problems, which seem to be known here, linked to the CSG roof:
1) When opening, the rear side upright in the driver's side does not fold well and for a millimeter goes to obstruct the opening of the flap blocking the opening; just touch it with your finger and the flap is released but it is a nuisance and I want to know if there is any way to adjust it.

2) Water infiltration: yesterday (today and still) the poor is in the rain; I discovered that I don't fit in the garage chute and therefore I have to keep it in the street. This morning, taken after a night of rain, everything seemed dry but it took only a few meters to discover that from the corner of the passenger side pillar a nice trickle of water started and even the canvas of the rear pillar is wet so it doesn't drain. 'water neither in front nor behind.

When I took the car, the old owner advised me to grease the gaskets with Vaseline oil as he has always done, but to read here I discover that the only oil that is good is the original VW (which costs an eye) and that the other products can even do damage! Now .. how should I behave? Should I check the drainage ducts if they are free (is a tip with the compressor ok or risk of disconnecting some connection? Is it better to spray some cleaner in the channels? What do you recommend?) And I have to re-insert the seals .. I take the original oil? Are there valid alternatives? Is it better to clean the seals from residues from the previous Vaseline first? And in case you need to clean them .. how? Warm water and microfibre cloth?

Sorry for the long post but I would like to have a clear picture on how to keep this wonderful car in excellent condition!

Hello and welcome to the forum!
1 yes you can adjust that. There is a you tube on that subject. Search for ‘VW EOS roof problem not opening’ or something like that.
2 your drains could need to be cleared. Run some water through them, maybe with the help of a bicycle bowden cable, a little air pressure etc. be careful. Internally there is a joint which may have became loose, you may have to glue that together again. There are threads on this forum about these problems.
I would clean the seals very thoroughly with cleaning alcohol and then krytox them.
Good luck!
