Has just appeared - apologies if its the wrong board!

Shut window, shut door, lock door and window opens about 3/4 of the way. Start car, shut window, etc etc and keeps happening. VW Assistance on their way now, but blooming typical, the big black rain clouds have arrived, and have no where sheltered to park the car!!

Anyone else had this? Found one post on another board and it seems to took the retailer 6 months to fix!

This is a known issue. Your VW dealer should be able to rectify in under 1 hr.

Have your dealer look at TB 64-06-10 (Technical Bulletin). It appears that your pinch protection is activating. It might be due to the window having become out of line (too high?).

I have this happen once in a while and was waiting for my 5k service....

I had the same problem, but during a snow storm. Took car to dealer and it was a quick and east fix while I waited. Windows needed to be recalibrated so they did not go up too far when door is closed. When this happens, the window meets too much resistance and comes back down again. Problem was fixed in less than half an hour. Your problem sounds identical, so should be no problem. Good luck. Cheers!

Cheers, will print it out and take it to garage and show them - they tend to be quite inept at sorting problems!

Had a play around with the window etc for sometime, strangely would stay up if i left keys in engine, and would stay up if i fell a little short of shutting window - would indicate a pressure sensor or something similar I guess.

RAC man arrived and naturally it stopped playing up, but as he wasn't the VW man I was expecting he doesn't know alot of the VW quirks!

Will phone garage in the morning and get them to sort it!

Ta again

Have only seen 1 in brum so far, and that was in my village/hamlet high street the other day! - unfortunately they weren't too hot at parking! lol

Been in the south west for almost 6 months recovering from accident, and seen 1 down here too. Had to get a chap to carry my shopping out to the car the other day in m&s, and he loved the car and had a big nose around it!

Gotta love it!
