Late summer/autumn 08 but have no fear, prior to that date the Eos had the Pumpe Duse (PD) fuel injection system (a high pressure pump/injector per cylinder) A fuel injection system that in many ways is more sophisticated

than Common Rail (CR) (just one pump). Very expensive to produce hence the reason CR is more common now. I think the very first Eos' might have had mechanical fuel injection - very noisey and totally unsuitable for a convertible, but I might be wrong.
Google 'pumpe duse'. Interesting if you are an anorak like me.
