They dont all leak, that is the most improtant thing. Having said that any covertible will ingest some water at some stage so if you are that worried than perhaps a convertible is not the car for you.

Mine is a September 57 and has never leaked, some later ones do, namely the saga with Doolally Girl.

My advice is lubricate the seals every six months and if it isnt garaged then get a small cover that encompasses the roof and windows.

I keep mine outside as the garage is full with my wife's two cars although I am allowed to squeeze my jet ski in along with my mountain bikes.

If I am not driving for more than a week I put the full cover on, if it is a day then just the top, you will surprised how it stops the interior from fading.

Regards

Rob

Gravenhurst6,
I have a 2009 model in Reflex silver which has lived outside since I bought it. I live in the Southwest & we get a lot of wet, windy weather but the inside of the car has remained bone dry. I lubed the seals after 3 months as they were looking a bit on the grey side (as opposed to black).
You shouldn't have a problem with an 09 model. My dealer says they haven't seen an Eos in for water leaks for at least 6 months.

Mine did leak. DID. It took a while, but it is fixed.

And I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you buy one of these cars.

Like I've said before, I expect a little ingress myself in a convertible.

Mine is an '07 reg but the younger car you buy, the less likely you are to have issues I think.

Of course, there will be teething problems with any car you own, whether it be a convertible or not.

I say if you want a convertible, this is the best on in its class to go for. The Ford Focus CC3 leaks like a tap in 90% of the vehicles it sells, the Astra Twintop is ugly inside, the Renault Megane is two-a-penny, the Audi A4 is well out of the price range!

I really don't think you can go wrong in purchasing an Eos and you will be very happy with it like I am (now!) :D

Although, like DLG, I have an Eos that leaked (is now, touch wood, not leaky!) I would totally recommend the Eos to anyone that asked. It is a fabulous car that brings a smile to my face whether the roof is up or down:D
It drives excellently and gets wonderful comments wherever I go - especially now I've 'chromed' the lower half of the grill to match the rest (Thanks for the post on doing that pacemaker1000).

I too am about to chrome the bottom half of my grill.

I've had my new one for 3 weeks and its despite some heavy downpours there hasn't been a sign of a drip anywhere. It maybe that this will change later but with the correct maintenance of the seals, I'm confident it will be ok.

Unless there is a fundamental issue with a specific car (lemon!) there is no reason for them to leak. The design takes care of that in some very clever ways...

However, if the seals are not lubed a couple of times a year, then you are asking for trouble...

I had a small leak once, but thats cos I forgot to lube a bit of it... I lubed up just the area which was dripping and it hasn't leaked since!!
