56 plate EOS falling apart...

I purchased a 56 plate EOS and from day one have had problems.

These include replacement gearbox, springs, shock-absorbers, major problem with the folding back of the roof (as it would stick half way down), rattling coming from the sunroof and god knows what other noises from the rear, as well as most recently water leaking from the a-pillars --- I'm not enjoying the car and have made this clear to the dealer. They have agreed to take the car in, however I feel somewhat like a guinea pig as they learn what could be wrong.

Has anyone else had problems with their EOS to the extent of mine? What rights am I entitled to?

Ok, I give up. What's a "56 plate EOS"? The only thing I can think of is that it's either the 56th Eos made (one of the first ones) or "56" means a wreaked car that was fixed up and then sold as a used "56" car.

Eos Up, in the UK our number "plates" (licence plate) contains an age identifier eg. AB56 CDE in this case it's the "56" Sept 2006 - March 2007.

Won't help you a lot but the reliability was one of the reasons our 56 plate EOS went!

Again, not much help to the thread but my *56* EOS has been nothing but a joy. Not a single problem in the 9 months I've had it.

I guess you have to ask the question when buying 'nearly new' car.....why did the original owner get rid of it so quickly. If someone rejects or returns a new car someone is going to end up buying it used.

It's a shame really, as those few bad EOS circulating are tainting the reputation of what I think is a fantastic car.
