Good evening all! :D
As I may have mentioned in another post recently, we received our EOS yesterday after a 32 week wait (we were not the only ones, there were 2 black EOS's being delivered as well).
Have only seen a few images of EOS's in grey on here, and maybe one image of seats that were not leather, so I decided to increase the count of both.

PS, now that it is finally here, I hope to be able to participate in any discussions a little more.

Yeah, she's not bad (neither is the car).
Fortunately she doesn't do much driving, which means I have most of the fun in our cars!
We are expecting a nice warm day on Monday (29C).

Thanks guys!
Yes Denny, it was a long wait, made a little longer by both our cars being built in the same week. but yours getting to your dealer more than 2 months before mine. Damn long way to Australia!!

Leo,
how was the hand over from the dealer to you?
Did they know what they were talking about - or did you already know pretty much yourself & it was a "formaility" before you took the keys?

HI LEO,
Didn't realise our cars were built in the same week, why do you think there is such a long delay for them to get to Australia, yeah its a long way but still its not being delivered by rowing boat.

Davey, my salesperson knew about all the features of the EOS.
She was aware of the krytox issue and explained about the seal wipes that were in the glovebox.
In fact, when I ordered the EOS through her back in March, she pointed me to the VWVortex site, which led me to this site, to which I joined the same day.
The car I traded in for the EOS was a 2-year base model Gen V Golf 1.9 TDI so the instruments and controls were nearly identical (the major changes are in the MFD, Climatronic and roof controls, with minor changes to the radio, window and steering wheel controls).
I let her go through the whole process of explaining all of the controls to me even though we both knew that they were virtually the same as the Golf.

Denny, according to my VIN, my EOS was built on June 25.
It was then 32 days before it was loaded onto a cargo ship in Germany.
The trip to Melbourne takes 42 days. it takes 4 days to be processed by customs, and it was then another month for it to be transported to Adelaide (750kms) and then prepared for delivery.
My salesperson said they had many VWs to deliver and they were trying to get through them as fast as they could, but their preparation area could only handle a few vehicles at a time.
The longish delays after build and after shipping were just "luck of the draw" I guess!

Maybe it was a long wait Leo, but glad you are enjoying it now! Our top down days are almost over .... was only 4 degrees yesterday, and snow is about a month around the corner! I won't be putting the EOS away, but it certainly won't get the same use and when snow is really bad (quite often) will have to switch to my wife's 4WD Passat (when she lets me!). Enjoy Leo!

Also, If you have 2007 model it would say 1FZ7V before the serial number, if it is 2008, it would say 1FZ8V before the serial... I assume that as yours is so new, it is a 2008 model...
Yes, 2008, but only just, I think, as I believe that the 2008 model year started in week 26, and my EOS was built on Monday of that week.
Vin is 1FZ8V005022!

No chance of snow here, doesn't get below about 10C during the day in winter (6C at night).
If it gets really wet, which is also unlikely at the moment, I will just have to hop into my Landcruiser TD 4WD!

Thanks for the info Leo, excellent feedback.
At least I know what I amy be in for re delivery times to Sydney.

Love to hear more from you about any little nuances, things you are over the moon about or not with your Eos in Adelaide.

Enjoy & all the best!
David
