I'm posting this only because when I went to buy Krytox at my dealership, the only thing they had was the 30mL aerosol. I bought it b/c I needed some, but HATED using the spray. It made a mess and I really had little control over how much came out or where some of the finer mist went.

Just browsing around on the VWvortex website I came across this place to buy Krytox as the liquid form in the applicator bottle. I don't use a sponge or anything to apply it.....just my finger.

When I first went to buy Kyrtox that's exactly what they tried to fob me off with. And I went for it! They insisted that was the latest and that's all they had.

Only later when I came up with the actual part number were they able to supply me with the bottle (the large one, which cost only a couple of pounds more than the small one which was half the size!)

I'm thinking that the time is about right to do mine - had the car from new since middle of september - no leaks or anything but I guess prevention is better than waiting for it to happen - I still have the pack from vw which I assume are some sort of wipes - do you think these are ok or shall I just go for the bottle ?

The freebie wipes are fine to use but you can buy the bottles for a fraction of the price you would get them from VW dealers. Just search Krytox on here and you will get all the info from where to buy.
