Hi guys,
I ordered my car last week, n it will dock in Australia later next week, so i got sometime to choose my options. And now it comes to Sat Nav, anyone got one? because in Aus, it cost me $3k+, not a cheap option, so really wanna hear some feedback about it.

Is it easy to use?
After pressing the "Traffic", does it tell u accurrent traffic conditions?
how can i transfer music to the hard drive?
can i save movies on it, n been able to watch as well?
can i see anything on display under the sun after roof down?

Any other feedbacks will help, Thank you very much!

Hi John,

I've had mine for about 3 months, and sure it's expensive, but for the most part, it's better than I expected. As a long time Tom Tom user, it's no Tom Tom... You can't customise much, and you don't get speed cameras etc. But it is easy to use, mine came with the latest maps, sound quality and integration in the stereo is first rate. To answer your questions:

1) The traffic button does nothing, no radio stations use the TP signal so its no use
2) You can transfer music to the hard drive via SD card or CD/DVD. You need to be patient, as copying 10gb of music will take a good couple of hours, and I find the menu system irritating to say the least. But once on it works a treat
3) As for movies, very disappointing... You can only watch DVD's and only while stationary, no Avi, Divx etc
4) Under the sun, the display can be difficult, or impossable to see, but I can't say it's every really been a problem.

If any integrated solution is important, then I'd go for it (like I did).
If you are happy to stick a GPS on the windscreen and remove after every trip, then you'll save a fortune and get a better GPS.

As a side note, I also installed the fiscon bluetooth (from a car audio mob) and use it with my iPhone. Now with the new 3.0 software you get stereo audio over your bluetooth connection, and can listen to your music/podcast etc directly to the stereo without wires, and the quality is great. By downloading a variety of speed camera/red light cameras programs off iTunes, now the warnings come through the stereo like the voice navigation instructions. Which turns out to be an excellant solution.

Enjoy you car

Cleaning OEM Head unit

I have the older MFD2 gps/head unit and have tried cleaning the head unit with all kinds of "non-alcohol" based cleaning wipes used for screens/monitors but keep getting left with residual marks any idea on how to clean it?
