It's nearly a year since I managed to get the VW dealer to take back the car after an ongoing battle of wills. Being my first VW, with so called VW build quality, I thought I was onto a good thing.

Curiosity has now got the better of me, are people really happy with their cars? Don't get me wrong, the EOS is a fantastic looking car! Much better looking than any other CC I can think of. However, do people just overlook the minor problems that these cars seem to have? (leaks, squeaks and rattles and so on...)

I have always observed the comments that people have posted here and there does seem to be an element of, "well I love the car, so i'll ignore the problems".

From my own experience of VW which I will just put down to a really bad customer service. Both garages (separate / main dealers) have honestly put me off any further VW car. I would happily tell you my woes, but don't want this post to turn into a rant against VW.

Just want to hear honest views, especially as I have noticed that there seems to be more of these cars around now.

Just forgot, in my time of owning my EOS I made sure that all the seals were correctly lubricated and never actually had too much trouble with the roof itself.

Happy Happy. If You research the many posts, you will find most of my complaints. Since I bought mine as a first year car with no track record, I was expecting the worst which has yet to happen. Every time I drive the car, I smile and remember why I bought it in the first place and nothing else matters. I don't believe that the "perfect" car exists.

Ahh, good question...perfect car...don't think it really exists. Having said that, the Eos is my second VW purchase. My first was an '02 Passat which I put 160K miles on and had absolutely no issues with. I would have kept the Passat had I not seen the Eos at the dealer during an oil change.

On to the Eos...I have had mine for about a year now and have laid about 20K miles into it. My Eos has been trouble free, with the exception of a few rattles (or should I say clanks) over really bar RR tracks or pot holes. I believe that is most likely inherent to any convertible though. I test drove the Saab and Volvo before choosing the Eos and all convertibles had some additional noise when compared to a sedan. However, the Eos was much quieter than the Saab (soft top) and equivalent to or better than the Volvo (hard top). I am sad to say that I have yet to apply the lubricant to my seals...yet, I have not had any leaks - not even through hard spray car washes!

Yes, I am very happy with my Eos and would purchase it again in a heartbeat. Oh, and by the way, I had my chip tuned to the 93-Octane and it rocks!

It's approaching a year since I first collected my EOS.

I am 100% satisfied and have not had a single regret, nor a reason to go back to the dealers, besides it's first oil service.

I still make excuses to go driving, I still keep a close eye on the weather, and I still clean it every couple of weeks. My previous car was cleaned approximately twice in the 3 years I owned it.

The engine is quiet, the performance is fantastic. It drives well on motorways, at speed, and equally as well on town and country roads.

I still get people asking me about the car, and complimentary remarks about it's appearance.

Had it not been for the halt in manufacturing by Ford last year I could have been driving a Focus CC. I can't describe how pleased I am to have the EOS instead. Whilst the Focus was a nice car, it's not a great car. Not a great car like the EOS has proved itself to be.

After one year, another totally satisfied EOS owner here. I krytox the seals mainly due to living in the dry and hot desert environment. Don't get much rain here but we do get fierce sand storms and I haven't had to wipe any sand off the inside of the car. Only problem I had was a stinking air conditioner which I mentioned during my 5K service. They replaced the pollen filter and all is well now. Don't know if I will keep the car long-term (after warranty runs out) but in the meantime, I'm having a blast.

my first VW was the 2005 GTI with 2.0T chipped and DSG, sold it after one year and 10,000kms to wait "two long years" for the EOS. my friend who bought my GTI is still enjoying the car with no problems for the engine and gearbox, so i would expect the same on the EOS.

after one month, i am totally happy with my EOS. it is unique, and a better alternative to the BMW 3CC. As it is the rainy season here, i just use the sunroof, and wait for better weather later

I am so satisfied with my 2007 Eismeer eos...a better car is hard to find. The price was a little high here in beautiful BC, Canada, but well worth it. Only had it in once for a rattle from the passenger side and my dealer fixed it immediately. I love the car and still get hundreds (if not thousands) of compliments on it. My neighbour said i don't know which is hotter, you or the car. I said my blue beauty is hottest. :D

No secret that I am not a happy camper. My Eos and I have just never gotten along. There's lots of little things that drive me crazy - mostly in the electonics. But mainly I just don't "get" the drivers wanted thing. My Eos just doesn't inspire like my old Mazda3. It's a nice little car, but its a one trick pony. And middling VW with a whiz-bang top. Oh, and the service - both dealerships I've dealt with should be run out of town.

I've been negotiating with BMW and will be placing an order for a 3-series Sportwagon today. I test drove one and it reminded me what driving should be like.

Totally happy now, initially the door trims weren't re-fitted correctly of the application of the window tint which resulted in very annoying rattles and squeaks. Before I bought the EOS I test drove a 307cc (nice but gutless) a Megane CC (too much body flex), an Astra (yuck!) and a Mazda MX5 which was too small, too noisy and not enough luggage room in the boot. The Alfa Spider came close, sensational looking car but the 2.2 litre engine was not as sparkling as the amazing TFSI engine in the Eos. I was reluctant to get the Eos because I didn't want two VW's parked in my garage (my wife has a Golf V TDI) but the Eos was the obvious choice for me. I love all of the features, dual zone climate, dusk sensing lights, rain sensing wipers, cruise control etc etc. Especially the heated leather seats, in my previous car (Mazda6) the leather seats were not heated and they were so so cold.

Im still thrilled with my Eos despite being 4 1/2 weeks without it recently due to a leak being fixed. It looks stunning, drives superbly, is fuel efficient and is very comfortable to drive. I suffer with a bad back and the lumber support and heated seats are brilliant. I cant see myself driving another car.

Maybe a million compliments and stares.

Seriously, love looking at it, driving it, even washing it.

A little less than 13,000 units sold here in the States, and many people
still don't know what it is, but they like what they see when they see it.;)

I have had my EOS for 11 months and 10,000 miles. It replaced my Corvette and a Pontiac Grand Prix with the EOS. I am very happy with the EOS. There is nothing out there like it. I don't understand why it isn't more popular. Friends are tired of my raves about the car. I am very satisfied!

I'm Happy with a capital H!

I've had mine since July 06 and it just passed 27000 miles. Any problems have only been very minor and frankly I've never had a car without those (and I've had not just VWs but BMWs and Audis in the past).

I can't actually think of an everyday car I'd rather have (I qualified it with 'everyday' because I'd rather have a Ferrari F430 or an Audi R8...!)

I never even considered a Pug, Renault, Astra, Focus or Volvo CC and nor would I.

Not only does the VW look better than all of them (although I think both the Volvo and the Astra look quite good) but it handles better than them all and mine has that wonderful 2.0 Turbo petrol engine - judged by many motoring journalists/magazines to be one of the world's best-ever engines.

Hi
I do love my car, and would tend to think you may be right with that observation because I sometimes think that given the relatively high price tag, I'd expect better quality in that sense... With an analogy on other cheaper goods, one would not expect a supposedly silent dish washing machine or vacuum cleaner to add rattle noises to an otherwise silent operation... (gosh, how dare I compare my lovely baby EOS with a vacuum cleaner... :p)
This being said, my BMW had sensor problems that caused it to sound alarms and beeps every now and then ; my AlfaRomeo used to have leaking seals around the doors and rattles in the windows ; my Mercedes used to have clutch and air conditionning issues, and my Volvo has all those recalls due to electronics and brakes... This surely has not helped me become loyal to a car brand, yet I absolutely accept a few rattles when the trade off is perfect ergonomics, original and different design, and excellent driving comfort, all of whichI get every second in my EOS. :)
