I love my 2008 eos...had it three weeks, for one of which it has been in the dealership having parts swapped out. the idiot light in the dash came on indicating that there was something wrong with the asr, so i took it in...vw tech told the dealer to replace the asr module..they did, and it didn't fix the issue. then the dealer traced it to the abs (the systems are interdependent), ordered the part, and plugged it in. i lost a week of beautiful top down weather! i should insist on compensation, but am not sure what to ask for....

Not sure about the states but in the UK you would be unlikely to get any compensation I'm afraid (I'm assuming you own the car and its not a hired one under a contract). Still no harm in asking for compensation, just don't hold your breath.
Lets know how you get on.

Most contracts of sale specifically exclude Consequental Damage and Compensation. I would doubt that any supplier of motor vehicles is contractually bound to supply you with compensation (or a vehicle) if yours is off the road unless it was not fit for purpose. Compensation is usually done only with pr in mind.

For one week there is nothing you can do. The car would have to be at the dealer for 30 days before they might do something. I have heard of them making the car payment and in some cases have bought the car back. Depends on the dealer and how much pressure you can put on them. At the very least they should set you up with a free loaner.

Different company but...

When my Focus Convertible started leaking and I took it in to be seen to I was given a courtesy car straight away. Ok it was a plain old boring (but brand spanking new) Focus (no drop top!) but at least it was compensation of sorts. I'm sure this isn't just a Ford thing...then again they knew they couldn't fix the leak in the roof from day one and I ended up in their courtesy car for three months so I'm kinda glad I insisted on one now!!
