Hi new here have had an 09 eos about three months . The standard power seat on the drivers side of the car will not move fore and aft in the morning wheni first start the car .Im living in Las vegas where it doesnt get to cold but in the thirtys. once i get the car warmed up interior wise like maybe a half hour of driving the seat will again function. I have had it back tot he dealer but they wont fix it if its working when its there. I dont have the luxery of leaving with them over night unless i rent a car. They wont give a courtesy car out unless the car is not drivable. oh well. Thisis annoying as the seat works after the interior is warm and will work all day until the next morning then not again. the top switch on the seat will not move the seat either. Im really baffled with this one Im an electrician and cannot think of an electricle reason for this. i also have alarm problems as the alarm will go off for no reason. have had it back for that and they say the car was in transprt mode and was never changed to normal mode whenit was prepped. they hopes that it fixed the alarm problem as theyfound no other reason for it going off. they also said it might fix my seat issue. well i new that was BS and as i figured it did not fix the seat. the Alarm has not gone off since but im not convinced that is fixed either. if anyone can help im at wits end with the seat. It sounds to me like it may be a computer thing if its even tied into the computer it does not have memory seats . all other seat functions work. just will not move forward and back the two most important ways to move the seat. hahaha oh well. help! anyone. It almost seems that funcion is tied into something like a relay that needs to be satisfied before its powered up. I have looked on here but no one else seems to have the problem . love the car hate the DSG its to jerky when you pull away. have had it back for that as well i drove stick new beetle years and it was butter smooth .hahaha oh well. thanks for reading this tome. tom

Did you ever find out what was causing this problem. I purchased a 2009 VW Eos 2 years ago and it has the exact same problems...only occurs after a cold night and heals when it warms up. Dealership says they found a "fault" but do not know where it is coming from...
Thanks,

As always in similar cases, you need to do a scan of the vehicle's computer to see what fault codes may apply to the seat and associated electrics it may be a simple case of faulty sensor or the codes might indicate other problems.

The first step is to get a VAGCOM or VCDS read-out from a VW dealer [expensive] or independent VW specialist [more reasonable] with explanation of what the fault codes revealed indicate.

If you are a DIY owner and intend keeping the car long-term, purchase a Ross-Tech VCDS interface cable if you have a Laptop or Notebook PC and do your own checks [cheapest long-term solution]. Just search this forum using "Ross-Tech" and/or "VCDS" and a lot of useful information will be revealed.
