Got my EOs on Wednesday. Just love it.

I noticed there is black liquid coming out of the exhaust as the exhaust gets dirty very quickly after it is washed and there are little black dots on the white paint around the exhaust, all the way to the top of the trunk area.

Is it because of the breaking in period or should I get the car checked? It has less than a 1000 km.

Thanks for your advice.

I don't know whether your car runs on diesel or gasoline. I have a gasoline powered Eos and yes the exhaust tips get black on the bottom edge. But it never goes any farther than that. If this condition continues after washing the car, and you are convinced it has nothing to do with where you drive, I would have your dealer check it.

This has been commented on in another forum. Seems like gasoline powered VW's run a bit rich. The black you see is probably entirely normal.
But as said above, it typically collects near the bottom of the pipes, and if you are concerned, show it to your dealer.

Happens on mine as well, looks like a standard VW feature.

Car has 1 500 km now and I'm happy to report that no more black liquid coming out.
Too bad, bet you thought for a while there that you had "struck oil"!

Cheers,
